I'm going to echo the BPD sentiment as well. I know someone else with [. . .]bpd.
/cough
I have to say, this is the first time I've seen a non self-dx'd case (or I guess a person who doesn't know they have it) be an attention whore of this magnitude. I don't doubt she self-harms, but most people I've seen who do it to cope (rather than solely for attention) try to hide it as much as they can.
Ah, as well as suddenly turning on someone and making them into a pure enemy. If you don't cater 100%, you're an enemy and then they become obsessed with harassing you instead
That's the thing that tipped me off first. Note that hubby is always absolutely perfect, while all Daniel got was passive-aggressive jabs at best & no-holds-barred character assassination at worst. Now that Daniel is out of the equation, I wonder how long it'll be before what's-his-nuts becomes the absolute worst person ever & long-time domestic abuser for quietly wondering aloud during the Jewish equivalent of children's Sunday school if lobster & steak with bleu cheese crumbles is kosher or not.
I'm also wondering where the autism diagnosis came from. I bet you dollars to donuts she either came up with it on her own, or was misdiagnosed by a doc because did her own "research" & knowingly played up her "autistic" traits. I've had some seasoned psychiatrists who can see through manipulative behavior no problem, but I've also had professionals who've slipped up because there can be so much overlap between various conditions (I've met guys that checked all the mental retardation boxes who were actually schizophrenic, because they had no working theory of mind, little empathy, flat affect, low intelligence, etc.). That said, lot of her "autistic" behavior can be explained by BPD. For example:
If she's depressed, she's probably on a mood stabilizer. Lamictal, for example, while mostly used for seizures, also doubles as a mood stabilizer. People who've been on it can suffer from skin itritation (from something as benign as skin sensitivity to Steven-Johnson syndrome, where you fucking
rash to death), sensitivity to light & sound, & even some people have reported a sensitivity to smell (which is awful, by the way). Sounds like something that could be mistaken for
sensory defensiveness.
Splitting, narcissism, childish/ emotionally immature behavior, & a lack of empathy are common symptoms of both BPD & autism. Those are also symptoms of NPD & HPD, so take that as you will.
While prevalent in BPD, people with autism generally struggle with
identity disturbance (Old Chris vs. Tomgirl Christine, Jewaboo gay man Ahuviya/ADF vs. Lantinx lesbian/asexual Isabel, etc.).
There's more where that came from, but you get the idea. Can't find any good studies on it, though.
She should use her thousands of Disneyland dollars to check herself into the nearby DBT clinic.
Because she makes such a big show of being into BDSM, I keep reading CBT as cock & ball torture rather than cognitive behavioral therapy, which makes me have to read these sentences a few times before I understand what's being said.
if she actually takes to heart the tools they give her there,
