This was shortly after they convinced themselves that "meme magic" is real because of some plane crash where the rescue crew looked oddly similar to characters from the plane scene in Dark Knight Rises.
Okay but you gotta admit that shit was fucking crazy.

In my opinion it was a genuine psyop and it succeeded. The whole belief in magic might have started out as a meme but by the time I left 8chan months later it seemed like there were plenty of people who genuinely believed they have the power to affect reality by repeately posting pictures and videos on the internet. Not that any of this makes the whole thing any less funny.

Call it schizoposting but this idea that things affect reality has existed for a very, very long time. I theorize that's why Christianity had to strike it down and really simmer the attempts of satanic witches affecting shit, excuse my politisperging

On 8chan /pol/fags once managed to convince themselves that the "shart in walmart" meme was an anti-american psyop engineered by some foreign three letter agency. COUGHING FIT PANTS OF SHIT

When you had people unironically repeating posts like this while believing that GETs, KEK, and Shadilay had mythical properties, it’s not a wonder that 8chan retards eventually stated buying into Qanon.

If you pretend to be retarded you eventually attract actual retards. If you pretend to be a pedo you eventually attract actual nonces. If you pretend to believe in meme magic you eventually attract actual schizos.
I would say mods could've prevented this but by now it's obvious the jannies were the ones letting their favorite schizos run wild.
memes have overwhelmed you.webp

4chan is a great example of that. The anonymity didn't help, either. I've been posting on the Farms for only a few weeks and I can't say I've run into any retards or retard pretenders so far. When I eventually come across one, I'll avoid that person. As simple as that.

I still go to 4chan because the speed allows for interesting topics and sane anons to pop up occasionally, but I like the fact that if there's a buzzword-spouting schizo here, I can just block them.

I didn't even mind the average retard since you can scroll past those. But the annoying ones were the ones that wanted a fight so bad they became completely deranged. Giving themselves (You)s, calling you a jew, pajeet and nigger, going on a thousand character rant about how you're just mad and stupid and a goylem if you even gave them a single word reply. Even if you removed a > so he wouldnt get a (!) he would instantly respond. If you ignored them 10 posts they sometimes calmed down, but of course another retard would give them a single reply to latch onto and they would instantly go mad again. For a while I held out hope jannies would eventually get around to it and ban these guys, but turns out they were janny pets instead.

Removing a > is pussy behavior.
