Assuming he actually has the money, He might be playing chicken with the deadline, which he has done many times in the past (including submitting responses AFTER the deadline).
I hope the Magistrate has dismissal recommendation pre-written and is ready to file it the very second the time expires.

I mean, he was given thirty days. He has zero incentive to pay up a moment sooner than that. Besides, he was only given fourteen days to come up with [THE OTHER STUFF] and hand it over to Hardin, so if he has any braincells left after whacking off to his latest instathots, he'll be focusing on that deadline.

Worse still, he has another deadline next week.

I kind of expect he's working on a motion for rehearing on the grounds of "'ya honor, I was so traumatized and zoned out I was just agreeing with things without listening and I swear I'm really a pauper." and then he will be late to answer the motion to dismiss and say it was because he was desperately gaveling for a rehearing and too busy.

What an asshole.

He has a month to pay the filing fee, a gigachad like Russ doesn't run to pay anything. He's probably even smart enough to know that the Court in practice means a month of working days, meaning he has six whole weeks. Nothing to worry about.
His deadline is June 5, 2025.

He's waiting until the last week for Hardin to send a tard-wrangling reminder. Then he can respond "Sir, you will have the payment by 11:59 PM on June 5th. I don't know why you keep harassing me!"

I got into the Hearing the other day, and I can't really add anything about it except: :story:

To me Russ was surprisingly intelligible vs the previous recording I've heard of him from another hearing. And I mean his words, not his ideas, notions, or comprehension of how the law or Court works. That was about what I expected given past performance.

Just as an aside, I want to apologise for heavy handed moderation before and during the hearing. Despite any actions I may have taken against your posts (or if I even yelled at you after), I'm pretty glad with how you all behaved, and any mistakes seem to be few and unintentional.
Thanks for putting up with us, U_M. I don't think anyone thinks you need to apologize for cleaning up nonsense and trying to keep the site out of any potential trouble with Judge Bowtie Bennett.
I enjoyed this case more in the beginning, when it seemed like it was just a matter of time for the Judge to see that Russ is completely retarded and this case should be dismissed. Then that didn't happen repeatedly and it was certainly depressing which is why whenever this case slows down and Josh has to pay less I'm happy even though it is less funny things happening.

The legal systems is extremely broken and there is nothing any of us can do about it.
Sadly underneath the humor of watching Russtard flail around like a retard, there's the truth that despite only being a nuisance to the Court and Null, he--through his pro bono copyright faggot lawyers--has caused an utterly ridiculous ruling on 'contributory infringement' that will now probably fuck other people up in the 10th circuit until it gets cleaned up down the road by SCOTUS. So as usual, Russ comes in, gets nothing accomplished, but manages to fuck shit up for everyone else around him.

Pay the District of Utah, Russhole. If you don't, your case DIES.
@DavidS877 - payutahdistrict.lol when?

One party crying about it is a reasonable basis to think that it would be a thing, and saying "Hey just to be clear, nobody do this" is perfectly appropriate.
This is where we are, folks. Dyn is the voice of reason. Let's all think about that.

It would not shock me at all if he files a motion to undo the thing that already happened over the IFP. No idea if that's even possible in this circumstance, but that hasn't stopped him before.
It shouldn't be possible for Districts to play ping-pong with a case, nor should it be possible for a Judge to just come in and just reduce a very reasonable bill by 80% because 'fuck it' but here we are. That said, based on the Judge's demeanor in the hearing I think his patience for Russ and the strength of the tardshield are both extremely diminished.
But I would suspect that unless there was "deep pressing need" he'd not bother, as it could create an actionable appeal (for the insane) and leaving it "hidden" doesn't harm anyone.
It severely harms my ability to laugh at Russ, though :(

If possible, Null should withdraw his offer to subtract the $225 from the $1000 Russ owes him. I think he could reasonably do so with the excuse that Russ slapped them in the face with their olive branch by demanding the bond only be 10% of the offset amount (and trying to shave a few dollars off at that).

Sure, that money would have to be paid back or offset later at the end of the case, but Russ would have to pay the whole $1000 out of pocket now, and that would make this month that much shittier for him

That only serves to piss off the judge. no?

Yes. It's dumb to consider changing the terms when it's definitely obvious it's already agreed to. There's no reason to piss off the court and argue about the 200 some. Besides Hardin and thus Null apparently agreed yes the 200 some was owed. This way it's not directly out of their pockets before Russ (never) pays them the same amount back. There's literally no reason to want this a different way.

That said I am moderately optimistic that we are at the beginning of the end.

I just don't see Russell managing to do all the things he absolutely has to do right now- getting the RO application, paying the court, and possibly paying Hardin the first round of sanctions.

Honestly were I Russell I might let the case dismiss, pay as much of the 1000 sanction as I could, get the RO to Hardin, and stop racking up more and more sanctions beyond what's already on the table. But if I was Russell this case wouldn't exist and I wouldn't have a thread so ... Anyways.

Russ already wasted 2 days in not paying IFP fees. It is still currently unpaid. Why is he stalling?
You would think he would want to show good faith with the court by paying up right away, but that's not the Russhole way. Right now he's wracking his brain trying to come up with some way to get out of it, my guess is he'll pay it on the last possible day.

That could even be the next poll: when does Russ pay his court filing fees?

1-5 days post-order
6-11 days
12-20 days
21-29
The last possible day
He is late
He doesn't pay at all
