Adolescence - British TV Crime Drama Where 13 Year Old Schoolboy Murders Classmate

i keep seeing people claiming the murder is based off the murder of those 3 poor girls at the taylor swift dance class.

but just looking over the synopsis, i see very little similarities

has the creator ever stated he based the show off those murders?
Have you ever learned what the fucking Shift key is for, nigger?

Not sure where to post this but the creators of this series announced back in April that they were gonna be remaking Threads.

It sounds like a fucking crime waiting to happen. I have negative faith on it going well.

Threads was made back in a time where most people thought nuclear bombs were clean and fun, and that a nuclear exchange would be a mild nuisance at worst, and not a catastrophe that leads to socioeconomic and ecological collapse.

Quite fitting for today, where the defanged, rotting corpse that is the United Kingdom keeps saber rattling over Russia. Though I don't know if these people will be able to decide between "Nuclear Bad" or "Russia bad, nuke them".

I literally can't even concieve of how they would justify the plot in current year. They would need to make up a bunch of bullshit to justify M.A.D. being back in business, and that would of course destroy the pacing (unless they make it also a miniseries, but then it isn't Threads anymore and just Threads inspired)

I also cannot see how they would ever portray the horrors in the realistic manner the original did. You know they wouldn't touch the issue of the migrant communities descending into sectarian violence, or the complete inability of the police to hold any law, or point out that the government would probably waste precious time trying to manage shit that doesn't exist anymore.

It just doesn't work. It sounds like they just chose Threads at random to say they were gonna remake out of a desire to hit a UK pop culture memory.
