I think the bar is just set so low for DSP that it's considered surprising he's only sometimes dipped into the red, based on what we know from the bank leaks.

I still love how the opening of the bank leaks thread was this statement:

Uh, guys, not to be the party pooper, but the one major reason why Phil is still successful when it comes to earning money is hatewatching. Him being so uniquely unlikable and managing to create such a massive group of detractors is reason numero uno he still gets so much money. The ironic thing is - he doesn't want to be seen as one of the most unlikable individuals on the Internet, even though it is his biggest selling point.

Fuck no he was never setting trends. He's a follower. I've always considered him to be one of the AngryVideoGameNerd knock offs. With the difference being James was never racist or partcularly as sexist as Phil was/is. And he has more talent than DSP. But a dipshit who makes fun of video games was cooking since before YouTube. Like there were magazines and forums making fun of games. I swear I remember Phil trying to get on either Cinemassacre or ThatGuyWithTheGlasses as well. I wouldn't be shocked if he only stuck with Machinima because they both rejected him. No Phil is a spineless bum who likes to wait for everyone else to get in trouble or succeed before shitting on it or getting in line. Thats the real reason he didn't do Lolcow Live. Because it was too new. And similarly, thats why he's on Kick.

Maybe file this one under "obvious information" but there's been a lot of speculation (let's face it, it's fact) that DSP has been buying shit using buy now, pay later plans on Amazon like Affirm. I saw this video in my feed and thought it was interesting since it explains the business model of those plans:

He was in talks with TheGuywithTheGlasses when nhe was on Blip.tv because that channel was big there. Of course that fell apart after "HELLO JEW!" which Phil in typical Philfashion blamed on trolls without realizing he was already on the bring of getting shitcanned by Blip because his commentary was and I quote "meandering and random". And he only went to Blip because Youtube or rather Google had banned his AdSense account because of "false click activity" (remember "click on the ads"?). He crawled to Hutch whom he had spurned a year earlier and he sucked him off to get into Machinima (also worth of note he already was contacted by Machinima a year earlier but had refused because he would have had to do extra work (extra work meaning to put the Machinima intro in front of his own videos). Phil is just a big retard overall and he stumbles through life being held up by his insane luck stat (I call it Devil's luck)

In the end it's just not a funny, or even remotely intelligent joke. He also did the "what color are you?" and waited like 20 seconds while grinning, as if the punchline wasn't obvious. It really makes me wonder if Phil hears applause when he does that (I know he eyefucks chat but even they were like "what?"). That's the thing with dark humour, you need to have a certain level of intelligence, you don't just scream "HAHA NIGGERS" because that's what a 13 y/o does since their idea of a joke is to get a reaction and say a no-no word, which is exactly what Phil did here.

Phil isn't a smart or witty guy, in fact he's remarkably unintelligent, all his race jokes are basically doing a chinese voice or saying "BLACK PEOPLE" not even a stereotype, he laughs and bites his nails when he sees a nig on screen because that by itself is a joke in Phil's mind. That's why someone like Nick Mullen can make a bit about Hillary Clinton saying the N word during a debate or fucking a baby and be funny, and why Phil sucks. One kinda sets the whole thing up and builds up around it, so in the end the racial aspect is just the premise. Phil starts with the punchline.

All that autism aside, the best part is that it was completely unprompted. At no point the question was about race, just asking for tips after moving to a new neighborhood. Phil somehow had to reply "IF IT AIN'T WHITE IT AIN'T RIGHT".
