That's about the most normal furry art I've ever seen. The style is comparable to those art blogs that existed in the 2000s of people who did genuinely just want to draw wholesome animal people.

Her art is noticeably worse than most competent Deviantart/Furaffinity artists. Better than Chris-chan and other similar autists, but lets not turn her into the next coming of Leonardo DaVinci.

The only way her art COULD become popular was if she became a popular comic strip artist. It wasn't ever good enough to gain (serious) popularity doing anything else (art, commissioned drawings, etc).

And the easiest way to become a popular comic strip artist is to just parrot the lowest common denominator bullshit takes that everyone can agree with (at least on your chosen platform and social group). Such as "orange man LE BAD", "chungus wife awkward haha" and so on. And as you're making your shitty comic that targets the lowest common denominator, you spend money to force your shitty unfunny comics into everyone's face via engagement and updoots from bots (otherwise nobody is going to see it or care, because it's so unfunny and beige).

The game was rigged from the start.

I understand what you're saying and I disagree. Everything people have dug up and posted is stuff that you could see every "artistic" 15 year old high schooler drawing on notebook paper and uploading to DeviantArt back in 2005.

She could have sat down and worked her ass off to be a middling-to-acceptable furry artist or something, but it's unlikely that would have been any path to a successful "career".

As a start, the Halifax Public Library website lists some newspapers for Dartmouth.
