There used to be a big problem of people reposting artists' work without attribution for the sake of rp or to farm engagement. The worst offenders would shoop out an artist's signature/watermark and pass it off as their own. Reposters were perfidious and annoying, often attention whores worse than your average artist, so a lot of artists adopted a hard 'no reposts' stance. I highly doubt many Zoomers or any of Gen Alpha have had to deal with this, since the people who were reposting have moved on to AI slop, but it's become a generational fear.

Update, I’ve learned that there are some reasons why some people might get platonically married, which includes liking each other as friends that much. My problem comes from how the artist is constantly making comics where he’s on his high horse about how “Allosexuals are SOOOOO ICKY ugh, too much romance in real life and media” and then goes and does this.

Look, a “queerplatonic” person’s view on friendship is so screwed. I remember seeing a thread on tumblr (OF COURSE) where “oh, you mean like having friends/a best friend?” was met with “no no, it’s something special! Friends are people you don’t hate that much!” Apparently the term acquaintances has slipped entirely from their vocabulary.
Other than that, I guess some people do get married for the hell of it? Weird, cringe, but I guess I don’t care as much if you’re not “UwU obnoxious asexual bean on the internet” about it.

I really like the OG comic but I can't say I'm TOO surprised.
Its vaguely progressive, quirky hipster background was pretty much the breeding ground for woke stuff today.
The gay stuff like Wallace, Ramona's ex gf or Knives were only gags in the comic but the anime turned them into full-on pandering and added actual gay romances with Lucas Lee.
The author himself is a sjw biracial millennial who laments having made Scott, his self insert, white. Coupled with its movie cast featuring Michael Cera and Kieran Culkin who both have a big hold over tumblr users thanks to their roles in Juno or Succession... Yeah, it's no wonder.
Doesn't take away from the comic, obviously, but... its like a less gay but equally hipstery version of Life is strange, to be honest.

For context, this was made as part of the DC's Joker series "The man who stopped laughing"
This was the final segments which were attempting to emulate the older classic style of batman comics, but its completely disgusting to behold and its full of stupid crap like this. With the main character (Joker and cohorts) always being drawn ugly, uneven lines, lumpy and whatnot and being complete simps or losers while any female character shown always has crisp nice lines, good art direction and is always standing strong and tall while beating the crap out of the Joker.
It feels like an SJW power fantasy comic that somehow managed to manifest into main DC
Case in point here on both points of being both "ugly" and "degenerate"
I dont know what the thought process was going into this because it feels so clearly this is playing out like the recent Harley Quinn April fools comic of being half extreme Tumblr SJW political masturbation and actual degenerate masturbation
I feel these would qualify as SJW art and comics

I saw the "anime" when it came out with a friend and it seemed less like pandering and more like a "haha funne" thing. I fucking despised the reaction to it by both sides of media coverage shit online though. I saw that shit before I saw the netflix series and it made me extremely fucking worried. Fucking one side going "YEEES BAD MAN LAME CISHET PEDOPHILE SCOTT ISNT THE MAIN CHARACTER ANYMORE SORRY CHUDS THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN" aaand then the other one being like " THEY KILLLED SCOTT PILGRIM! WOKE NETFLIX AT IT AGAIN! OR MAYBE IT WAS ALWAYS WOKE HMMMM?!?"
I'm so fucking glad someone else I knew for some reason was like "well what if we look at it anyways and see how bad it is lmao" because fuck man it was ok. Not the GREATEST THING EVER!!! but nowhere near what the politically brain poisoned kept framing it like. Extreme relief, especially after finding out the reason why it was the way it was was like a compromise with netflix's BS. From what I remember the creator didn't want to rewrite his entire fucking comic for a netflix show and so we ended up with the "goofy quasi sequel what if time travel shit" that we got. Was neat though seeing the movie guys were able to actually capture the characters a bit better with different direction. scott not whisper-mumbling all his lines was nice. I do wonder though like if some of the weirder stuff in it was more netflix fingers in the ass of the show or "fanservice" or whatever.
I have no clue what you're talking about with the life is strange comparison though, unless you consider "one character has dyed hair" enough for that lmao. I do think the movie definitely had a hand in these types' "thing" though.

Dude Wallace gets a full on gay romance arc with one of Ramona's exes, ramona has her heartfelt apologies with her ex gf and Kim shares a yuri kiss on 4K. Saliva trail and everything. You can find it funny and nobody particularly cares if you enjoy it, but it's definitely woke as fuck lol
aw, bummer. I wish we had gotten a closer adaptation. Stuff that got cut out the movie like the OG ending, the resoution between Scott and Kim or Lisa as a whole would've been great animated.
they are both microcosms of millennial 2010s hipsterism that both ended up portaying a generation and influencing it. Just like Romeo + Juliet 1996 is a microcosm of 90s pop culture as well as a trend setter.
Plus, they really do both employ the exact same quirky humor. Tell me "I'm in lesbians with you" isn't something out of LiS.

I still don't see it. LiS is supposed to be a super serious realistic drama thing and scott pilgrim's supposed to be just goofy characters getting up to goofy shit in a story where there is literally an evil organization that's entirely dedicated chris chan PVCC style to not letting a guy have GF.
One thing I have said before/pointed out though years back is how a lot of corporate/politics preaching/"sjw art" seems to badly attempt to skinwalk the scott pilgrim guy's artstyle. I think that's a big influence thing too in how perceptions changed of shit the last few years, fucks with your head seeing the "original instance" after so long.
