I'm a Jobst defender in as much as I like his content, but you'll note that my final guess for the case, about an hour before the verdict was announced, was that Billy would win. Nobody cares what "rung" he's on in the Aussie legal system, for speed watchers he's near the top and Billy is still a blatant cheater.

As much as people talk about Billy cheating, he does have actual talent; he just got greedy. Compare that to someone like Todd Rogers whose whole schtick was claiming impossible scores for random games and calling it a day.

Not to speak on his behalf, but I think god might actually believe that a financial setback like this is an appropriate punishment for the sins Karl has committed and actually a chance for him to redeem himself.

Not when you have a court order from a settlement. You can claim bankruptcy when not in litigation and no one will investigate you, but when proceedings claim you must enforce payment due to a ruling the state will froze your assets and investigate every single transaction and account you own, plus any and all actives and passive income.

So, in short, he is utterly flabbergasterly fucker beyond belief and now with the bankruptcy is going to be even more tied than before. Billy can enforce his house, cars, seize his account, YouTube channel, computer fuck me even the Goldeneye cartridge he plays with!

Karl, once again, tried to cheat the system but he doesn't even understand what the fuck he is doing so he put himself in an even bigger worse situation.

For speedrunning trannies it doesn't matter if you are the best in the world. If you are suspected of cheating then you have committed an unforgivable sin. Look at what happened with Riolu in Trackmania. Riolu was a retard but people were breaking the law just to find out if he was playing on an alt that was outperforming everyone else and which had world records which were confirmed to be legit. Cheaters are sometimes the best in their sport, even without cheating.

Look at it through Billy's point of view: It wasn't just about the legitimacy claims of his scores, its about being blamed for someone's death. Billy oversees several businesses that his image is somewhat tied to. From a financial standpoint, if his customer-base catches wind of a rumor that he influenced someone's suicide, he's going to lose business. I own jack squat and wouldn't want tied to a rumor that severe; no one would, especially in this day and age. Jobst has a big following and a equally big voice online (enough of a voice that the creator of the most popular video game of all time financially backed his defense). Mitchell was right to have perceived this as a financial threat and acted appropriately.

The allegation wasn't enough, Karl openly spouted his motives that he wanted to ruin Mitchell financially and laugh about it for as long as he could. Jobst thought he had been given a sword to slay an unbeatable dragon just to fall on it, because he took the words of Reddit as undisputed truth and couldn't keep his mouth shut. Now Billy (or realistically his son running his X account - 60-year old Billy isn't calling himself "based") is giving Jobst just a touch of what Jobst promised to do to him if he had won.

My brief .02 cents (AUS) on the legitimacy of Billy's records. It sounds like I'm buffing the guy, but Billy is legit. This isn't a Todd Rodgers situation where a guy was able to cheat his records for decades through his connections. We can dispute his Donkey Kong record but if you've watched the guy play, he's really good. Even if you take his DK record out of the argument, he was the first guy ever to achieve a perfect game of Pac-Man and thats pretty impressive even by today's standards. Mitchell has a offputting turn about him, but the dude can back his talk up in his field. He's an IRL Johnny Lawrence from Cobra Kai, except he's the one who owns Larusso Auto.

it wasn't less fraudulent than the other Guinness record holders though which might soften some peoples' opinions

but there were other twin galaxies users who deserved that spot
