I find it a bit telling how many people are reflexively lashing out at you for this post, it certainly does nothing to prove the existence of empathy.

I’ll say that yes. Everyone is, to a degree, selfish and self-serving, but that’s just how things are. That’s how you are, that’s how I am. Unfortunately it’s something I also struggle with, the fact that you can feel that mask everyone has on, pretending to care.

You want to just rip it off and shout in their face “look! I’m here! Hear me for real now!” But it’ll never happen. Or I should say, it’ll never happen unless you can find some common ground.

So that’s my conclusion. Find people with common ground to you, and learn to hold your tongue if there’s little things about them that you don’t like or annoy you. It’s what everyone else is doing whether or not it’s apparent.

This is not true. There are selfless people in this world. It's just hard to find them because of all the greed, competitiveness and degeneracy that we have put on a pedestal. We aren't supposed to live this way. This isn't how humanity should be. But because of the way the world works people are pressured to strive for some ultimate version of ourselves built on the backs of whoever we can step on to achieve it.

But our lives are not supposed to be about ourselves. They are about the lives that we touch. So instead of worrying about how others act we need to be more conscious about how we treat others. No matter how awful you think the world is, you need to be the positive force. "Be the change you want to see" sounds hokey. But it's actually very good advice. It's hard to stay positive in a negative world. But if you have no hope you just end up giving up on everything. You don't want to live like that. No one does.

Yeah I was going to take that part out when I wrote my little rant at the end but I ended up leaving it. I realized part way through writing it all op was more just being a manipulative asshole and a lot of op's ranting probably includes trying to guilt the fuck out of whoever he's talking about over all the shit he's ranting about here.

How do you know this to be true? You assume this based on what I wrote in the sentence. Writing can be interpreted in billions of ways, plus barely anybody here knows of what I've been through in real life.

And why do you think that I do this to opportunistic people who don't know any better. What if I said that all the people I've interacted with has had power, influence and fame above me, your sentence would remain the same.

But yeah, I don't have anything to hide. No one that I've interacted with has ever been finically dependent on me, at all.

What I've written is not about what happened on this forum or what you think has happened, this is my entire real life. I didn't even know about this forum since 2019 and even then, it was probably either a mistake or bad luck.

I do agree with people that I'm too much of a downer and that my life is what I make it but I do not agree with that statement.

Do not take what I write as backtracking or attempting to modify the words that I've said. This is honestly what I believe. The COVID-era sucks and it has really opened my eyes to the amount of fuckshit that people do. Part of it is my experience, most of it is witnessing the fucking bullshit that people do.

For example, the people who say that Kiwi Farms is a "harassment" site when they don't like the honest things that people say about them. I believe in high standards and my opinion is that people shouldn't be pulling this shit just to take down information they don't like, they shouldn't also use this shit to bolster their own popularity.

I'm not going to stop anybody from posting what they feel, it's ultimately your life, I can't control anybody, God gave us free will.
