I can't even imagine the fucked up relationship dynamic where one half has to constantly whine on Facebook with histrionic and attention seeking posts about their relationship being in trouble. All while living in the same 1 bedroom apartment together.

And the other half placates them... on Facebook.

I think it's also really telling that Phil is already framing himself as the victim. He's not saying, "I think we might break up." It's "I feel like I am going to be abandoned" like he's some helpless, passive child who'll be left out in the cold without Slingblade to take care of him. And as others have mentioned, it's fucking ridiculous that he's posting this on FB when Slingblade is probably IRL ignoring him just a few feet away LOL.

Whats the chance this is just song and dance from the two of them? Like I cant divine a purpose for this being fake except for asspats but it doesnt make either of them look good.

Phil has no sense of shame and Slingblade is not much better. Slingblade regularly airs out his relationship dramas on Twitter (on his TransEthics account, no less) and Phil will say literally anything for attention. With these two, it is perfectly safe to assume that the stupidest reason is the correct one.

I don't think he has a sense of shame, it's more that he doesn't like getting told off or made fun of. I've seen no indication that he feels any sense of personal responsibility when he makes a twat of himself.

He feels shame, but it takes a special combination of things for him to feel it. Basically it has to be something he's already self conscious about, like his beaver teeth or his fat ass, and then people need to draw attention to it. For a long time we would never show his teeth, especially in photos, because people were making fun of him being bucktoothed. We were openly mocking him about his weight, so he started lying about losing weight and avoided posting photos where you could see his whole body. He hates that he's white and tries to play it off as being a "white-passing Trans-Latinx".

The things Phil doesn't feel shame about, things that most responsible people WOULD be ashamed of, like being lazy, on welfare, covered in tattoos that look like a special ed class art project, etc., he's actually proud of.

So while Phil does feel shame, it's only over things he feels hurts his self-image and not over things he should feel ashamed of.

Ah, fair. I guess the things he doesn't feel shame over are things that he's decided to do because he's so cool and edgy, so if we make fun of them, that's because we're part of Society.

He doesn't feel shame about things that he can twist into a "political statement" -- like being filthy, being autistic, and being a leech -- or things that (he thinks) can be covered with a lie -- e.g. being a white Italian, being unable to ride a bike. Unfortunately he rodent teeth and fat jowl are obvious to all and are not (yet) political identities.

He could always get into the "Fat Acceptance/Beauty At Every Size" movements. They're heavily tied into radical feminism, which has become a very political movement. I mean, feminism has ALWAYS been political, but it's even more so these days. But that would take Phil admitting he's a tub of lard, and his ego won't allow that.
