Elden Ring

I was hoping the combat director would make meaningful improvements and while I like the sprint speed adjustments all they really did was change a few lines of code.

This is not even a live service game btw. Should have been a free DLC even it it means monetizing skins due to the way this game is multiplayer focused. Or just have it where you buy a copy and your friends can play too without sinking 120 bucks into it. No one can do that shit and most ppl like me prefer duos. No randomized maps, no randomized enemy movesets, fuck nothing fun solo or alone as a game. Why not just make a chaotic randomizer mode? Its not that hard especially when you have full access to your own game engine. They only mentioned DLC's. Even still, adding a duo mode after launch is so retarded. I think the only updates we'd get is more cosmetic slop and a long year of balancing updates that reduce how fun weapons like the Guts Berserk cannon blast ability are.

Yeah this is probably not going to have a player base in a month or so. I expect it to die a quick death.
 
Remember when FROM game trailers featured obscure indie bands with songs that fit the theme of the game? I member. Dear god do I hope the Lies Of P devs don't try to copy modern From for their Oz game because unless Duskbloods somehow is a masterpiece From might as well be dead.
 
Man, I didn't know you couldn't even use voice chat when playing with randoms.

I'll have to see if enough friends are planning on buying this to make it worth getting. This seems completely unplayable if you aren't partied up with mics.

Edit: to be clear I'm talking about night reign

There's not even a ping system apparently.

How the fuck is this supposed to work? Elden Ring region maps are fucking huge. If a teammate lags behind you'll never find them.
 
I watched Iron Pineapple's review and even he said Nightreign isn't very fun solo so damn that's saying something. One nice thing about fanboys is that when they choose to say something isn't fun/good that says more than the average person.
I hate his cope about how it's nice a developer is experimenting and you should just trust them about this game and Duskbloods because of their track record at the end because the developers are also not entitled to my money or support.
At least at the very beginning of the video he acknowledged that if you just care about single player content don't buy it.

The appeal to me is that I get to play a Fromsoft game in a smaller dose when I'm in the mood for it instead of having to start an entire game from the beginning. I don't think it's a full-on live service game but I can see myself playing it for quite some time, even more so if they update it or add DLC packs every 6 months or so. The only problem is that I don't have too many friends who like Fromsoft games and I'm not looking on reddit or discord.
 
Does anybody know if it's possible to play with a friend + a rando or is it all tied to the dumbshit password system meaning it's either me and a friend or me and two randos? I would sure love it if from would hire at least ONE person who speaks both english and japanese so that all their messaging wouldn't get garbled in translation.
