This game isn't as fresh in my mind as when it came out so remind me, were the quests "well handled and had impact" like he claims they are, or is he full of shit? Considering he said he likes the barebones combat system, I am pressing X to doubt.

Even the comments on his video itself are pretty skeptical as to the veracity of his review, because it's an odd standout of him being somewhat-oblique about why he likes the game and instead being positive about the sorts of things he's complained about before in other titles. The suspicion, of course, is just that he wants to stay on EA's good side, because that channel is his income.

I think it's more likely that he just doesn't have the best taste in the world and is easy to please rather than an effort to keep his bread buttered, though. In fairness, if you were to skip every single cutscene, it's just a really blend action game so maybe that passes some muster for him.

I just watched the end where he says this is the best game in the franchise and it is worth 60$. I'm thinking I am going to stop taking him seriously, just like WAB after KCD2 fiasco, he's either a shill or his taste in gaming is awful, or possibly both. Either way, it goes to show that 100% a game means nothing if you have someone like that still praising the game after so many hours played(or maybe Veilguard really does get better after your 6th playthru and no soul other than him was brave enough to find out).

Also, I'm surprised that there are so little engagement to his posts. The hearts are in three digits, but we all know people tend to like posts of people they like without really reading those posts, so engagement like reposts and responses is more significant.

I like Alex Wilton Regan and no doubt she’s put a lot of time into DA-both the various characters she plays in origins and the female inquisitor, but still the game did fail.

(She’s a very good voice actress-so I’m sure it’s very painful for her, and I don’t blame VAs for a game’s writing or failure).

Just what is with all these voice actors and their love to show off their asses in public? Is having a sense of entitlement where success is concerned a requirement to be a voice actor?

Perhaps AI is the future for voice acting. At least they won't be whining about how every time their game fails, it's because of the chuds/Gamergate/MAGA/toxic white males/review bombing, etc.

To be entirely fair-they do put a lot of their time and effort into roles, VA isn’t the sort of job you do if you aren’t passionate about it.

It's also likely very frustrating to work at a studio with potiental and not benefit from it.

The "dream" of most VAs is to get into an iconic character that you can basically ride out forever (think of Kevin Conroy's Batman, Hamill's Joker, Hale/Meer as Commander Shepard in Mass Effect or actors tied to MMOs) or some huge breakout role that marks you as 'top talent' basically forever (like happened to the Baldur's Gate 3 voicecast, some of the FFXVI cast, or God of War). Dragon Age is a large enough title but it's clearly just helping people "breakout" into the unemployment line and isn't going to cement anyone's career. It's now just another mediocre/bad game on her resume that's already full of mediocre/bad games.

Baldur's Gate 3 was gay as fuck but still sold really well because the characters were attractive. It is also in a genre that should be even more niche than Veilguard. He is just coping. Bioware did the opposite of try to appeal to a massive audience.

If I remember right Origins was already in heavy development by the time of the EA buyout so EA couldn't stick it's dick in too much with the actual meat and potatoes of the design of the game. They still did retarded shit like the Marilyn Manson marketing campaign and the scummy DLC, but that was about it.

As soon as the game was finished and EA had full control of the IP though, they immediately started to run it into the dirt.
