This house is much nicer than 14bc
I wonder if Charb will try to sell the old and just stay there.

I highly, highly doubt that. Remember 14BC IS part of the hoard to Barb. I doubt she wouldn't let it go even if she was offered a mansion in it's stead.

That rental house is nice by my standards because it seems big and has two stories. I never thought rental houses in the States could look like that. I always pictured them to be one floor only. Chris seems relatively lucky that insurance is paying their rent in that house. I wonder if that house has Internet? If it does, then he's lucky since insurance will pay that too because most cheap homes in Vietnam don't have Internet.

Feel sorry for the neighbors, not just for the trash, but for ultra-bright security lights making life difficult. I imagine if any of them came to talk to the Chandlers (whether their trashiness or even to say hello), Barb would probably be extremely rude.

I like how Barb is paranoid and she wants herself and her son to be left alone.

So she turns the front yard into an eyesore, then she installs a bright security light so said eyesore can be seen from blocks away.

Classic Chandler Logic.

Skyraider91 said she had them installed in the "Random Chris thought" thread.

But even if they were there when she moved in, people who don't want to draw attention to themselves usually don't have blinding lights on the front of their house.

He actually has blamed how his life has turned out as a result on Mimms taking this picture and posting it online:

I don't think his day to day life would be much different if this photo wasn't taken.
Chris actually referred to this picture as embarrassing in a Facebook post. It shows just how out of touch with reality he is considering he's uploaded nude photos, crossdressing photos, diaper photos, fake breast photos, mom's undies photos and countless fat, pouty face selfies and yet this is the one photo he finds embarrassing.

Honestly, it a bit unusual to me as well. I've seen plenty of instances of house fires where the family is placed in a temporary trailer home set up outside of the original house as renovations to it are being done. Perhaps it varies by how long the insurance company estimates the renovations will take? The Chandler's insurer of choosing probably looked at 14 Branchland and said "fuck it".

A rental house is just a house that is for rent, it's a pretty generic turn of phrase. Many people chose to rent out properties (and still do) that were underwater or unsellable after the housing bubble popped in 2008. There are tons of McMansions where I live for rent, though it can have some long term effect on property values. Witness the Chandlers.

It's very unusual for a dispute between an insurer and the insured to go on this long, in my experience. Most insurance companies want a settlement within 30 days, for reasons that I think I wrote in another thread. There's nothing normal about the Chandler situation (well, the Chandlers either I guess).

Those houses are pretty nice actually. For people who needed housing after a fire they got pretty lucky. Hell there is even a lake within walking distance. Very ironic they got a fresh start in a nice new house and their only mission is to fill it up with trash.

This house is much like all the others on Flintstone Dr, but not necessarily OPL's house:

Hello all, I shall chime in with some (perhaps) words of wisdom regarding lawn care of rental houses. Growing up my family has owned rental properties down here in Texas and in the past it has been our (the owner's) responsibility to make sure the lawns were mowed and taken care of. Friends of mine who have owned their own rental property also had such arrangements where they, as the owner, were responsible for managing the yard. Now things may be different in how it's handled up in the north east, but I just wanted to throw out there that it may not be entirely Chandler fault for the exterior conditions of the rental house.

...unless Barb's hoardmass leaking out of the front door is delaying yet another person from doing work for her.
