MySpace was sold for $580M to News Corporation in 2005, Condé Nast Publications bought Reddit for $10-20M in 2006, Google bought YouTube for $1.65B that same year, and made generous offers (ultimately turned down) to Digg and Yelp as well. He turned them down, but surely he had something he wanted to go for, right? He doesn't seem to be the local philanthropist type (donating just enough to be listed in "Bronze Supporters" of any non-profit venue), but even then there are things that he and/or SA could've done--invest in a real video game studio and make games with a real budget?
