It's fundamentally different. Elon hopped on a train that had already been in full swing for 10 years and had been gaining momentum. He put some more coal into the engine but he was not the sole cause. And as i explained above, MAGA had backtalked elon on 3 separate occasions, most notably when he simped for indian h1bs. It's not a no true scottsman fallacy it's gatekeeping, it's a "let's be clear about what we really want here and police our own". It wasn't the purity spiral that fucked the left, it was a dilution of their primary aims.

Now the right does not have to simp for h1b fags or elon fags, because they made their priorities clear: American populism and America first out prioritizes the soulless economic efficiency.
