No, Lune being barefoot absolutely is fetish material. Just have to check the character designer's Twitter. I do not even think it is acknowledged ingame except for once in an oblique manner: one monster party member collects monster feet as a medium to transform into different monsters. Lune is told in an optional conversation when she is curious about the ability that she does not have to worry because it does not work on human feet.

Her running animation is a reference to Magus' from Chrono Trigger, but angled in such a way that you can see the soles of her feet; thus, it has "plausible deniability." Thankfully you can put outfits with fairly standard shoes and boots on her, and she looks better that way.

I don't get the issue with fanservice in games. It's like 2 decades of feminist propaganda has brainrotted people into being Smithers

Fucking this. The fanservice itself is not a problem, the problem is the frequency, the brazenness, how it is often out-of-place, et cetera. I personally prefer something a bit more understated.

Donkey Kong & Super Mario World are nearly identical. Yeah, obviously there's different characters, you ride a dinosaur instead of a rhino, run through the forest instead of a jungle, and on the mechanical level there's physics differences too, but they're still largely similar.

You could do this all day, like Mario Kart & Sonic Racing, Columns & Tetris, etc.

Barely, but yeah, that was dumb. It's still very un-DEI-friendly, which is based. Nothing will be perfect.

Stellar Blade is far beyond Nier. The combat system is actually challenging. You don't have to play it three fucking times to get the story. The music is 10x better. The art is 100x better. The characters are .. okay, but still far more interesting than Nier. I cannot tell you how much I fucking hate Nier and thought it was overrated trash. Even if you like the story, the gameplay is just kinda shit.

Stellar Blade is pretty hard, but it's one of the few games I played through twice (with NG+). There's a lot of interesting hidden stuff to the story. The side quest with the singer is really interesting. The only thing they really have in common are the hot robot thing. But Stellar Blade is a much better game overall.

I only got past the first boss but I feel like that's enough to judge it somewhat, at least its combat, and it's decent. I think the story already undercut itself to a degree with the fakeout death of the two main characters, that could've been impactful if it happened at the end of the game and they didn't revive.

The music is incredible though, so at the very least it has that too.

I'm fine either way. The problem with it being understated is that the pendulum swings too far the opposite direction.

Like the censorship in Oblivion Remaster. I'd hardly call Oblivion "gooner bait" but that's what criticism of the changes gets you.

It's something I struggle with in my own games. Because almost everything is a fetish, it's hard to make stuff that isn't read as some kind of weird fetish insert. I asked in other thread about it, and was told to stop worrying so much.

There's a bunch of schizos on the /v/ thread that literally spam the thread, from the Maciej guy to the guy who says Eve has a nigger ass fit to American standards (his paraphrased words) and so on. They literally spamed the thread with 9 PAGES of this shit in a single thread not to long ago, which the janitor had to delete.


It's so insane how attractive women in video games buck break mentally weak weirdos. The complaints about 2B, Bayonetta, Lara Croft and Bloodrayne were never this vociferous. It's genuinely perplexing how this game uniquely makes people so mad just because of Eve.

For Bayonetta they were. Also Dead or Alive Vollyball. The latter game never saw a western release as a result, and journos tried (and failed) to shut down PlayAsia for allowing the Asian version to be imported.

No. Trannies, maybe. ResetEra hated the game, until the censorship was discovered, then the narrative changed to Eve bad, but Tatchi (another character in the game) good.

Most of the hate comes from born again religious types (ie. The goonergate crowd) and man hating feminists.
