After playing all 4 chapters in order, I think for me it'd be:
1>2/4>3

1 just feels the most like a toby fox game to me in terms of writing and general "feel."
Thats not to say 2/4 are bad chapters, I actually like both of them a lot, but I think the writing and pacing of them have a distinct feel from them that is different compared to ch. 1.
I still like both of them though. If I had to choose one I'd probably pick ch. 2 because I like queen the most but Gerson and Jackenstein are both good characters as well.

chapter 3 IMO focused way too much on minigames and too little on the actual dark world itself. I think the chapter was at its strongest when you were passed the second gameshow and exploring the world. I also think ch. 3 had the weakest side characters of the game so far.

What are the odds of Chara actually being relevant to deltarune when all is said and done. Given how the genocide ending ends along the lines of " we'll go to the next world and consume them," it would be funny if it doesn't matter.

Charafags are in the same boat as Gasterfags in being unbearable schizos who attribute every single thing in the game to their pet character, only Charafags are even worse since 99% of them are lolifags too.

Finished ch4 and enjoyed it, ch3 secret boss was the highlight for me easily because I love a brutal bossfight. Also agree that the less Noelle we see the better although the sequence involving the chapter 4 closet/SOUL in the vents was great.

I'll be in the minority to say that I liked Chapter 3 although it's definitely filler, but there's a couple bits about the design I haven't seen mentioned anywhere:

The first time you get to the green room and talk to the NPC (don't remember if it's ramb or not) who says the game's a kind of twisted linear a-to-b version of a previous game that was much more open-world is an obvious reference to the secret route, but there's another way more subtle joke here: The entire scenario for the TV show including Tenna, his banter with offscreen producers, the flipping through different channels during the bossfight etc is a direct lift from a very cult open-world Wii game named Little King's Story even down to the object heads both being rulers of tv-themed areas populated by lots of little black canon-fodder humanoids. The biggest difference between the two is Tenna's analogue (TV Dinnah, because LKS has a braindead translation, uses Japanese terms everywhere and come the fuck on Terebi-san is right fucking there) is characterized as a chill newscaster rather than bombastic gameshow host. It kinda stunned me how direct the lift is. Seriously look at this fucker:

The other bit I haven't seen pointed out is Tenna's boss theme being a mashup of bits of classic NES/SNES music. Someone pointed out the Turtles in Time instruments but the opening is decently close to the boss theme from that game, the main bridge is extremely close to Johnny's Theme from Chrono Trigger and the droning bit is the escape sequence from NES Metroid.

Also, Tenna having classic Hanna-Barbera facial features was a nice touch. I want to say his antennae are directly from something as well but I can't place them.

I don't see how people consider ch4 to be their favorite, it's a nice refresher after the flop that is ch3, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the first two
The dungeon design was good. I get that the entire chapter was in a dungeon this time but it felt nice and non-linear.
The dark segments were cool. That weird business with the statues was cool. The secret boss was cool.

Wait was kris referred to as a "he" in the 2018 chapter 1 demo?
I think Kris was only ever referred to as Kris and they/them didnt creep into the script until CH 2 dropped and now gender specials make it their mission to hunt down and harangue anyone who dares assign an improper pronoun to their fake videogame protagonist.

I replayed ch1 yesterday, it's kind of crazy the jump in quality from ch1 to 2 in the way of graphics
Also was jevil always this easy?? I remember him being this ultra super boss that I almost gave up on but this time I beat him in a couple of tries and most of them was just relearning his attacks
Jeevil was probably the 3rd hardest boss in the series (After Sans and Undyne the Undying) until Chapter 3 came out. It just comes down on practice with him. First time I fought him it took me an hour and a half, next time about 30 mins, last time I replayed like a month ago I beat him my first try.
