Could be lots of reasons taxes, inheritance, some sort of family secret where they needed her to be alive so they assumed her identity. It's also a consequence of the potential reason. She wasn't trying to be the world's oldest person. That's absurd to even argue. However when you suddenly take 30 years off your biological age it becomes a whole lot easier. It's not like you can't find cases where people have lived under false identities for long periods of time. I'm not sure why its so far fetched that people 100 years ago did it when it was more easy to do back then.
I dunno but if my family member died as the oldest living human ever recorded that's a pretty great reason to get an autopsy. I think most people, especially scientists would be very interested in having this once in a life time chance to see the state of your body after 122 years.
