Cruze seems confused because while he's been grilled about population numbers while he's thinking, "does this guy not know about assassination attempt xyz? I thought we were going to talk about Irans nuclear enrichment?."

Tucker just comes off way over his head here. He's not and never will be a politician, nor hold any office. He's not some international ideolog who can broker peace in the Middle East/Russia. He's the ex-Fox equivalent of a late night tv host. He should have stuck to that format of show instead of trying to be a political expose type.

I generally like Tucker's moral compass. The clip about the population I don't think helped either person and I haven't seen the whole interview but hopefully there is some good dialogue there. It's healthy that conservatives can debate ideology openly, otherwise you get the democrat situation where they don't know how to debate party positions and breaking from the hivemind makes you a fascist neo Nazi. They even struggle to discuss issues amongst themselves like troons crushing women's skulls in sports rings. That's how the party has lurched so far left in recent years. Pure momentum by the far left with nobody knowing how to engage the wing flaps.

There's a lot of focus in the media/social media every time there's a split about "MAGA civil war" when there's debate about spending bills or war etc, but it's extremely healthy that we can at least try to sort this shit out.

No, the "real reason" is that nuclear proliferation is bad. Look at India and Pakistan, who developed nukes for no other reason than "fuck that other guy." If Iran gets the bomb, the UAE and Saudi Arabia will immediately go nuclear, and they have the money and ties to make it happen. The problem with North Korea is what we're seeing now, with waning US influence in the region, Japan and South Korea are openly floating the possibility of getting nukes.

If you cannot see the inherent virtue in preventing regional nuclear arms races in unstable parts of the world, leading to an exponential increase in the possibilities of loose nukes or nuclear exchange, I can't help you.

If the problem is the risks of an escalating nuclear arms race in the region, then the solution is obvious:

1: Negotiate with Iran, and have the Russians help them set up a nuclear power plant and deal with the enrichment.

2: Tell Israel to chill the f out. Get rid of the temptation to get a nuke by removing the major threat to Iran.

Either way, my original argument stands. The “threat” of an Iranian nuke is always presented as “OMG THEYLL NUKE US!”, which is an obvious bs argument. (Again: NK had nukes for decades, nothing much happened.) not in terms of proliferation.

As for proliferation, it’s not our problem. If you really believe nuclear proliferation is an issue, then maybe start with Israel.
