Mega Rad Gun Thread

Keep that right next to a 20 inch AR M16A2 clone and I'll be fucking set.
The (early) GWOT era really did have some of the sexiest AR builds known to man. Back when being high speed low drag meant you had a PEQ-2 brick on your M16 that you were short stocking in CQC environments a la Fallujah. 1750356550794.webp

Not going to count my chickens before they hatch but de-cuckification of suppressors and "SBRs" would be so great. Although from the sounds of it some suppressors already are suffering from supply not meeting the demand. Also, for suppressors private sales would forego the need for the 4473 just like a rifle would right? Or is there some stipulation I missed? Wouldn't surprise me since as far as I'm concerned the 4473 for a gun attachment is annoying as a concept but the alternative is having to get a form 3 which is also paperwork but more expensive.

I wonder how much prime shooting land is going to get eliminated if this budget bill goes through. While I do like the idea of easier availability of suppressors and SBRs, I don't like the idea of swaths of BLM land being auctioned off. Some of the best places to shoot in the country are BLM land.

You mean Form 4. Form 3 is, IIRC, for transferring from a manufacturer to a dealer. Form 1 is for "manufacturing" an NFA item. Form 4 is for buying/transferring an already manufactured NFA item from a dealer to an individual/trust.

Once the NFA on cans goes away I'm just going to have a machinist make one, lmao.

Edit: Or I'll get one of those "solvent traps" that use filters as a medium to hold me over until I can get a "real" can. lmaoo.

Are shotguns/AOWs included in the BBB NFA changes or just rifles and suppressors? A sawed-off 1887 ala Terminator 2 is something I'd love to have. I've got a Shockwave which is basically the same niche but I want that lever action action

If it goes through I'm really looking forward to all the innovation that's going to come out over the next couple of years. If I can buy something as slick as a Flux Raider that isn't a 320 right off the shelf I'll be extremely happy

So you can get a Terminator 2-style Winchester lever shotgun without it being an SBS. I believe Chiappa offers one. Or you can buy a regular one and cut down the stock yourself. Just as long as the barrel is 18" or longer, it won't be an SBS. But yes, if the SHORT Act stays on the OBBB and passes, then you can have sawn-off/short barrel shotguns just like any normal shotgun. I plan on getting the 10" barrel assembly for my Origin 12 if it passes (plan on doing it if it doesn't pass anyways) and getting a Salvo 12 suppressor for it. Helluva home defense rig.

Edit: AOWs will also be included. If it passes, I believe the only things left on the NFA will be full-autos and destructive devices, like grenade launchers, mortars, cannons, etc.

I'm eyeballing a beretta 80x should I go for it? or should I wait for it to come down its been 2 yrs and its dropped significantly from its debut price of 800 dollary doos to 600 Israeli bitcoin it seems like a slick little gun that wants to hang with the big boys

We'll see a Renaissance of stocked pistols if it goes through.
SARCO's going to have a backorder on their stock sets, ditto for Iver Johnson's stocked 1911s.

It's really big for the caliber. Comfortable in the hand, don't get me wrong, but that's because it feels like a full-size.
If you do want one, $600 sounds right.

You're right. I must have heard form 3 enough from dealerfags that I absorbed it as what was needed for the average peon. Think that applied for MG transfers between SOTs. Also yeah the form 1 seemed appealing if you had a machine shop to make your own, I heard of printer folx doing that for printed cans, I guess $220 isn't bad for a .22lr suppressor for plinking. All these "forms" are both fake and gay anyways.

You just reminded me that the gAyTF is going to have to find out what the 'receiver" on a suppressor is. I know you can sell home made arms and shit like that but you can't mail receivers without them going to an FFL so I suppose meeting him in person would be fine.

You actually think my homemade can will have numbers on it?

It's a nice pistol but the big hold up for me that I don't understand why a double stack .380ACP within spitting distance of a P-01's size holds one fewer round. I get that it's a soft shooter in the same overall configuration as a 92, cool looking, etc. but it's just too big to be a .380 IMO. Beretta has a pretty loose definition of the term compact though, a 92 compact is basically the same size as a P226.

For me, I'm not putting up with sub 9mm performance in anything bigger than my micro 9s unless it's strictly a range toy, like a PPQ 22.

You forgot your "Allegedly", or perhaps an "in Minecraft" even. This does seem like a really hard thing to regulate so I can see those solvent trap kit things taking back off again. 80% suppressor kits.
As much as I sort of want a full size Uzi, it really is retarded that nobody is putting together Mini Uzi's, as those are better, imho.
The full sized Uzi just looks way cooler IMO. I really dig the goofy ass folding stock too.
Please let this lead to a PDW/machine pistol renaissance.
Do you think putting a stock on a Glock will make the FRT thing legal for them again since it's an SBR instead of a pistol?

My wife carries an 80's era cheetah as her EDC. She's tiny, it conceals well. Feels like a compact in my hand, but fills hers.

I would hope so but I never expect TPTB to be consistent. I'd rather see the Hughes Amendment and the GCA as a whole get shitcanned but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

The early 2000s M16s and M4s are awesome. One of my favorite range rifles is a 14.5 AR (pinned and welded, of course) kitted out with a bunch of Block 1 and Transitional SOPMOD accessories. I even managed to find a genuine Knights Armament RIS for it at a local gun shop for $5. It's not 100% clone correct, but it's close enough. A rattle can coat of tan and brown gave it that Fallujah chic.
