King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

I had no idea Jonathan Joss was gay, and his "husband" might be a pooner. Some people are already using his death for pride month because murdered for being gay. There has to be more to this story....
I don't think he was gay, I think he was just not picky and a pooner was the only box that wasn't 40+ that let him smash it.

So I was watching Squirrel Tactics' videos and I never really thought about how Tilly was herself a terrible mother. Yeah, sure, she gets overshadowed by Cotton and being married to him mitigates a lot of blame, but she wasn't there for Hank when he needed her and becomes a pretty irresponsible, erratic person in her Golden years. Old women driving large vehicles terrify me on so many levels.

What's really interesting is that Tilly's negative traits the narcissism, overblown ego, exaggerated sense of self are all present in the woman an adult Hank would eventually marry.

I wonder if that was intentional social commentary on Judge's part.

I'm already expecting Luanne to literally be written off as a victim of covid. Something off screen is going to be done to keep her gone.
Maybe Luanne slips on some Costco pee-pee and gets her own settlement and Luanne ends up moving to LA to make a salon? I'd hate for the to just kill off Lucky and Luanne.

I think it was the fact he was doing meth.
The meth and whatever else he was probably on didn't help. Methheads aren't really know for being rational, now are they? I can only imagine how unhinged a pooner jib freak is. The more that comes out, the more it just seems like Joss was a run-of-the-mill junkie.

I can't get over how awful the animation is, but none of the dialogue has stuck out to me as particularly bad. More crass than the original, but I can genuinely believe it all coming from Peggy. She's always been one of the "bluer" characters and getting older has probably just made her worse.

It is already starting.

Man, what little amount of interest I had in this is pretty much gone now. Because you don't put "ethical non-monogamy" (which is BS, because it is inherently un-ethical to be non-monogamous) in a show and not expect the rest of it to be infected with the same kind of mind virus.

The only way this plays out well is that they shit all over her for this crap, but that is a loooooong shot.

I do not think we ever actually know who Hank votes for during that episode. It could be that Bush proves himself an able president to him.
Thinking about it more, I think Hank just respects the position of president. There's that episode where he meets Jimmy Carter and while he disagrees with him politically he's still respectful and star-struck simply because he ran the country.

Hank strikes me as one of those guys who identifies more strongly with their state than the country overall. He mentions in a few episodes that he's an admirer of Lyndon Johnson too which makes sense given what his dog is named.

Hank could never be an anti-Trumper. He's an everyman representative of a certain sort of Flyover Country boomer that I know really well. They are all, invariably, the most hardcore, instinctive Trump supporters on Earth. Being a New York billionaire heir is easily swept aside because they genuinely believe Trump is a kindly, saintlike (but earthy) figure who appeals through a mixture of bluntness/crudeness, humor, appeals to the same cultural touchstones as them (like the silliness about two flagpoles), and vicious mutual hatred between them and his enemies.

TLDR My argument is that I have never met someone like Hank IRL that doesn't want to slobber Trump's knob.

Right. Hank would never have supported Donald Trump because he's from New York.

He would have definitely went with Chicago born, former New York senator Hillary Clinton, Pennsylvania born former Delaware Senator Joe Biden or Oakland born former California Senator Kamala Harris.

Bush was Satan around the time the George Bush episode came out so Hank didn't even support him at the time. If Donald Trump ever figures directly into the show during the current term then I doubt that there will be full throated support for him or at least hank will somehow get disillusioned or some limpwristed shit like that.
The angle they might play is the fact that while Trump does work with traditional conservatives he's not really one himself.

Once Trump has left office for awhile (presuming the Dems don't get him permanently imprisoned or he suddenly turns into a flaming liberal or something crazy to that effect ) and people have moved on to making the next major Republican figure into the new Satan, then it will be okay for Hank to start actually liking him.
