... They added both Oblivion and Skryim's maps to Morrowind?

Holy autism, Batman!
Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I don't think I've played Morrowind since maybe 2005 so I thought OpenMW was a standard fanmade script extender or another similar utility, but this is a brand new engine. Some amazing things are happening here and it's all much more interesting than whatever Bethesda is actually cooking

Speaking of which, I finally got around to watching a let's play of Oblivion's demaster. It's every bit as awful as I thought, I can't comment on all the new gameplay mechanics they added(I know the automatic health regen is a fucking cancer) but the graphics are atrocious. Potato NPCs of the original are unironcally better looking as they at least don't give you this creep Uncanny Valley effect when looking at them, and the entire game has lost it's cartoon charm, one I never really liked but what replaced it is absolutely generic, horrid Unreal slop with saturated brown colors. People have been making a big deal out of the Bodytype/genderless armor fiasco but that's just the tip of the iceberg, and I still say the original with all it's mods is still worth your time more simply because it has more content and features. Little wonder why nobody is talking about it anymore, it's a flop by all accounts that barely moved the needle. Generic even as far as lifeless, unnecessary Unreal demakes go.

Now that I know what to expect, I can't wait to ignore the Fallout 3 demaster, I will happily play Fallout 4's Capital Wasteland Project instead if Bethesda or Microsoft don't send a DMCA to the devteam.

Allinall has completely rebranded and renamed his channel, deleted all the unlisted playlists and apparently lives in Japan now, hes gone full weeb. On his second channel where he announced the ending of THLMR for nobody to see he edited the description to link to an official archive of his channel

Man, the fact Hammerfell is getting a second game before Valenwood is unfortunate, i do not know why Bethesda is so resistant to making another game in an elf providence with Morrowinds success, guess we will have to cope with the fact we will never see it an Singleplayer Elder Scrolls game (barring some shit like an Arena Remake remade in a 3d modern engine)

We'll never get another elf focused game because the Skyrim High Elves were literally neo-nazis and there's no way in hell they'd be allowed to do that again by Microsoft HQ. Doesn't focus group test very well, and the pink haired twinks they hire as pets to show off to each other would lose their shit if asked to write race supremacists with an ethnostate.

Actually Bethesda not ruining a thing you like is a good thing. Do you really want Valenwood: Emil edition? Hammerfell is the perfect sacrifice.

I swear too many of you have an unnessecary hate boner for Bethesda, Emil probably won’t even be writing the next game
Why? He’s only become more and more influential within the studio with no sign of it stopping, and he was the lead writer of Starfield. As it stands now he’ll likely also be the lead writer of TES6.

The fact something like Morrowind got made and released feels like some statistical anomaly of the universe and if you think about it too hard you'll wink out of existence. Never really played that much of ESO but I didn't care too much for what I saw and like (I think) someone mentioned before if Morrowind didn't get made and have so many fans it would've been completely generic. Can't stress how much Morrowind's art direction/art style carries it at the risk of sounding like I'm tonguing its anus if it were a person.

Suffice to say if there was a (r/d)emake of it it'd likely be a big dud besides normalfags hopping on the bandwagon to try it for a week. I don't know if modern Bethesda would ever manage to make Valenwood/Summerset/Elsweyr/Black Marsh not-bland but at this point I'd trust modders to make it faithfully in Morrowind more.

The word you're looking for is "talent", Bethesda had talent at that point. By the time Oblivion came about, even if they had any, it didn't matter since they already made it their brand to release sterile, sloppy console pseudo RPGs instead of real CRPGs.

if they hired devs that were actually good it would have a chance, but its likely it would require nuking 80% of the studio and replacing them, and MS might be total faggots in terms of greenlighting that, if you really want to explore those areas ESO exists, its far from perfect though and I wish Bethesda's workflow would drastically change so we could get more Elder Scrolls, even if its on-par with Morrowind instead of Oblivion or Skyrim visually

I still recognize a few names on that list, but I'm not sure how many from then are still left. iirc Cuckbride and his (underappreciated) tardwrangler Kuhlmann aren't around anymore officially even if I think they are still consulted sometimes.

If only. Really feels like ESO killed the series. Seems like MMOs for established series tend to do that.

I might have found the best mod ever released for Skyrim. It lets you talk to the NPCs and gaslight them. Their answers are AI generated and based on a character sheet the mod creator wrote. It also takes environmental factors into account:
Saw that recently, It's pretty nuts. I'd only play it if I can figure out how to install it locally though. I don't need CIA niggers listening to my mic and collecting my data.

It's cost upwards of $10k to have a dedicated PC to run the AI model for this and have it not take five+ minutes to generate lines. It'd need to be a PC on your network with at least one of those 96GB AI cards but you'd be able to have control over the LLM and make the NPCs say whatever you want with whatever voice gen files you want. You could make Ulfric sound and react like Trump and have Tullius sound and respond like Biden.

I'm not so sure about that. I can run a basic text gen LLM right now. Probably not at the same time I'm gaming but it's not that far a stretch. 12 gigs of video ram moving to 24 would do it, so maybe 1-2 graphic card gens especially if they actually bother to do it instead of intentionally keeping the plateau where the extreme amounts of profit currently is.

The text to speech? Or speech to text? That's old tech. No fancy AI model required.

As consumer grade NPUs become more and more interesting we might see a day where you have a GPU and NPU specifically to enable stuff like this. Even if we don't moore's law (still undefeated) says in 5 years that $10k card will be a whole lot more affordable... presuming they don't use a monopoly to hold back the tech (see: Nvidia's latest GPUs).

Either way, neither the setup involved, the hardware, nor the electric bill seems to be worth it to be honest.
