Gotta say, I love that DSP scowl.

He literally looks like a villain in a Disney movie. If you asked Chat GPT to generate a picture of an irredeemable POS and that was the result, you’d quietly mutter that it’s amazing what AI can do.

Phil I will give you $1651 if you can find me one other streamer who calls out when he sees a pay pig in chat that hasn't supported that day. Also kept the nose pick because I'm petty and you're a 43 year old man who picks his nose on camera.

Sometimes folks may be jealous of the fact that he makes hundreds a day just playing games, but just look at that pic. The man is miserable, and every day there’s more misery until death with no relief in sight, because he doesn’t even have SS to look foraward to.

They say that IQ is the best predictor for success in life, and Phil is a great example of that.

He has made a six figure income every year for over a decade, and he has absolutely nothing to show for it. I’d be surprised if the equity in his house covered all his debts when he ACKs the bucket.

He's talked about falling for people scamming tourists in the past, and has even gone so far as to call himself a mark. He's only less gullible than Chris because Chris was an sheltered autistic child who didn't really go out that much for like 75% of his life, and DSP went across the country and did a bunch of shit (such as staying in his room while in VEGAS). If we compared them 1:1 on an even playing field (IE. if both were sheltered autists who never went out), IMHO we'd see that DSP is dumber than Chris.

At best on old forums, there were some that said they didn't know Phil well and that he was decent player at the time. Basically, a guy. Then there's some that saw Phil as an easy money pawn, and some really hated him.

Say what you will about Chris Chan but at least he has some interests that he can actually express some care for(Sonic, MLP, and Barb's pussy off the top of my head). Even if they are autistic/weird it's still at least human to have something you are passionate about.

DSP has no interest in music, movies, TV, games, books, art, travel, any long term goal of any kind, learning anything new, or really any hobby. He's passionless and it just makes him seem so inhuman. His react content was the worst shit ever, but it was great at illustrating that DSP does not know anything about anything and also has no interest in learning. It's hard to imagine too many people out there like Phil who just have absolutely nothing to latch onto. Even the smallest thing you like or hope to achieve someday is something DSP just doesn't have. It's part of what makes him so alien to me.

I don't know. I don't think Phil was ever above an average IQ at best. I think he was always stupid, but you can be stupid and still do well in school(at least through high school). It's not like it matters much. Whatever was there has been obliterated and the combo of learned helplessness, isolation, drinking, and chat handholding have killed any trace of intelligence that was probably not really even there in the first place and it will only ever continue to get worse. Even if it is, he might be able to extract some wealth as he's literally at the end of the game. He has the purple wedge to access the last phantom realm and can get the Rekka-ken if he makes it through all 20 floors; completely optional. From there he has the third and final Gigamphantts fight, then down an elevator to Nobunaga and thr Golden Statue (last boss).

Literally end of the game, less than 2 hours including the Phantom Realm.

The thing I find the weirdest about this is him & food. He is oddly obsessed with food, usually whatever the latest "limited time" fast food is, but exhibits no passion or curiosity for it at the same time. I see it mentioned here on occasions that he'll order Greek, he'll order Indian, or whatever but he can't describe any of it any better then he can a fucking Big Mac. It's just wild how much he will talk about food but shows zero fucks for it besides shoving it in his maw.

SF4 changed the game and it was even the game that basically launched DSP's career on YouTube and it was the game along with SC2 that helped launch Twitch into the stratosphere as a platform.

DSP didn't do what most others did he just did his own thing and didn't take opportunities. Machinima wanted to get him in the commentary booth at tournaments but nope he would rather just spam day 1 views on slop cause it paid more.

In another timeline DSP was going to every tournament on Machinima's dime doing commentary while still entering brackets and he ends up making a successful career and gains a lot of the FGC's respect.

The closest thing Justin is to a nepo baby, is being good enough and in NYC to live at TriForce's second apartment he called The Ark. Unlike other members of Empire Arcadia, Justin still held down a job while playing games. I don't know if he went to college, all I know about him outside of fighting games is he's fluent (or was) in Mandarin.

He managed to build a brand of himself that focuses around fighting games, while Phil just flops around chasing 10 year old trends. Phil had a business degree, he could've easily held down some accounting, CPA, or basic tax preparer job and did games on the side. Go to any major and you'll meet a lot of dudes who don't have liberal art degrees. His self-proclaimed rival Tokido has a degree in Chemistry, there's a lot of IT and various Engineering degrees in the US FGC, I met a dude who's an actuary.

Phil wants to cry nepotism while he's squandered every opportunity given to him.
