One of the suburbs near me (in Australia) is now majority Muslim (Its about 65 - 70% Muslim but the government conveniently no longer publishes this data anymore, suburb is also about 5% White and shrinking).
Police abolition is neither a woman's issue nor a socialist issue, because socialists fucking love state and vigilante violence when they're the one wielding it, and men wanting to commit crimes without facing the consequences of their actions is a society-wide concern not a woman-specific one. Arguably, a well funded, well trained, well staffed police force with solid auditing and oversight is a feminist issue because that creates a safer society in which women can live. Anyway, Butler had a recurring theme in her works of humans being enslaved by aliens or not humans (vampires, telepaths). If that is the kind of thing you are into, she is great.

For those who don't know: it's by Octavia Butler. She's the one who made Kindred the time-traveling slavery experience. I think whatever she has going on is all her creepy sexual fantasies.
