Josh brought up in a recent stream that his problem with anime/vtuber spaces isn't necessarily that everyone involved is a lolicon, but that people are willing to tolerate it to not cause a fuss. I sort of understand that impression, but I think the reason why it happens isn't as much a cynical "easy money" thing as it is the acceptance that lolicon "discourse" is a surface-level conversation that goes absolutely nowhere, since nobody will ever change their mind on the matter and both sides will essentially be talking to a brick wall the whole time.
