Speaking of these 2 counties, after watching Annie Elise's (big true crime YTer) do a deep dive on a 12 yo girl dying in PA because 2 nearby counties in PA were not talking to each other about a (female) abuser, I did a quick deep dive into Kandiyohi County Attorney Shane Baker (Kristen Pierce's boss). He's flown under the radar here and everywhere. He's as milktoast as they come. Fischer and Wentzell had this job before him. Hamline Law School. Seems to care a lot about sexual violence crimes.

This made me laugh, though.

The statute someone posted last night (see some pages back) says law enforcement SHALL arrest, not MAY arrest. The difference, I believe, is whether it's a gross misdemeanor or standard misdemeanor. (I think)

He may have gotten a call from his PO, which -based on information I've gathered ITT - basically means being contacted by a social worker with some teeth. But it may have shut him up.

Speaking as a resident of the northeast, I believe all 50 are.
