It says a lot where a fucking children's show pulled off the joke better than this short did.
Wouldn't be the first one either.

Once upon a time I'd have given ms Viv the benefit of the doubt and thought. "Hey she didn't have loona be a realistic closeup of a wolf or a detailed realistic drawing cause these shows did it first"....well tough shit I can't give her that kinda slack now, cause she's stolen from so many other shows I'm asking why DIDN'T she steal from these? Too late for originality now.

Current Twitter drama is someone took the hijab demon from the show and is just drawing them saying offensive shit, like implying the girls that died in the Texas floods today are being used by pedos or something.

Yeah, this is pretty fucked. There’s edgy, and then there’s mocking a tragedy that happened extremely recently, which already has polititards dancing on the graves of children. Just leaves a real bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah, I’m having a hard time being on this guy’s side. There’s edgy, and then there’s mocking a tragedy that happened extremely recently, which already has polititards dancing on the graves of children. Just leaves a real bad taste in my mouth.
It’s not even a “joke”, it’s just …saying young girls that died less than 24 hours ago are being treated as sex objects or something. Like it’s not phrased in a humorous way or anything.

Not even South Park would stoop this low. Probably the 4 kids would say "your humour sucks and your shits all retarded". Either that or something more clever.
What else is being said, I wonder?

We'll soon see "these posts are protected or will "ZAPP" quadruple down?

Well, the quadrupling down is already happening from what I glanced at. He’s all like “lmao do you even edgy humor bro? Tell me you’re safe edgy without saying it”.

Now I'm reminded of what happened to the late Gilbert Gottfried after he made a series of tweets related to the tsunami that hit Japan in 2011. It would be a real shame if his employer learned about this. Oh who am I kidding, he probably doesn't have a job.

The Hellaverse really is a big reminder that modern writers are absolutely terrified of having an actual serious moment of sincerity, at least one that isnt around their character pets (and even then, thats not a guarantee)

Sure, you could have a legit touching moment with Loona lowering her defenses to show not everyone that is good is hiding something or has unsolved daddy issues (cuz you write what you know) or you could just do the "lol so random" thing and just have the guy suddenly scream like a maniac in fear and probably throw the "But its realistic!" as if the setting has ever leaned towards realism.

Sincerity is dead in modern entertainment and it really feels like a by product of a generation that has been practically raised on social media, negative social experiences the few times they got to have them and a constant worship/misunderstanding of the "funny asshole who's actually really damaged inside" archetype.

A reminder you dont hate these people enough.

No, you are not edgy, you're just a cunt. Im sure we all lived through the "age" of edgy humor and I can comfortably say stuff like this type of stuff wasnt the norm.

"But you pricks made 9/11 jooookes!" yeah but we made jokes around the absurdity and horribleness of the event, we didnt fucking say the victims are getting molested in another world or some shit. We just had edgy punchlines that usually ended in the image of the planes hitting the towers, was it tasteful? Not really but was it disrespectfully gross like saying the victims are getting sexually assaulted because they happen to be from a state we dont like? Fuck off with that.

Thats the difference between saying a shitty joke like having a character in a ytp getting thrown and then cutting them hitting the towers or something and a certain someone saying on live "This is why America deserved 9/11".

One is a joke, the other is a statement.

Not even South Park would stoop this low.

Actually I dont think even Family guy/American Dad would do this and they are as liberal as it can be. Not because its writers wouldnt want to mock the death of Texans who may or may not be conservatives, but because even the network knows the backlash would be out of this world.

But as its being said, Im sure if it DID happen, the "its FG/AD, why are you taking it so seriously? lol" would get thrown around.

Niggers, you dont GET to develop a sense of humor when its convenient.

LoL, I want him to do a holocaust joke, right now. And then a dead Palestinians one, side by side. Where are his "cojones"?

Pretty much. This isn't really "joking" thing, it's just "I am a despicable loser who hates myself and the world, and I will spew the hatred inside me for everyone to see".

People have spoken about a real shot of when Loona remove her disguises as a joke, so I decided to make one myself:

I know it is the smiledog.jpg, yet imagine a version where Flanders would be "Well, how interesting! Creatures from other worlds exist." I don't know, an alternate ending where he "accepts her for who she is", and she is happier, but then Blitzo kills him, and this creates a tension between "father and daughter". It would be interesting to see - making Wriggler would be a better father figure in one day than Blitzo was in... what is the time span so far?

That's the thing. There's plenty of sincere moments in HB. That's why the short feels so out of place. To give an example:
No jokes, just a serious moment where Stolas finally sees some consequences for his actions. We shit on Viv all the time for her melodramatic scenes, but the flip side of this is that serious moments are taken seriously.

"Remember children demons hide in our heads because they fear the might of God's children. I once baited Mephistopheles into a fight behind Sears and I broke his shins with a crowbar. He cried like a baby- oh Lord what a blessed day"

-Mr. Wrigglers on "Mr. Wrigglers' Street" S13 E5

The original animatic for this scene was better though as it took it's time instead of speed running through the conversation.

Also the star dying out in the end is just a nice added touch since Stolas would call Octavia his little starlet.

But both suffer with the same flaw of having Octavia shooting the blame at the wrong thing. Her using the depression pills as the main catalyst makes it more like she was misunderstanding the whole thing and not seeing the full picture. It also softens any blame Stolas rightfully deserves as she's not pointing out the actual wrong things Stolas has done here. After she states that Stolas chose Blitzø and Stolas tries to explain but fails, she should have said something along this line; "you've always chosen him over us, over me". And we as the audience would have to agree because we've seen that being the case before in previous episodes. This scene would also be a good parallel to Loo Loo Land and Seeing Stars where Stolas has tried to explain things but ultimately fails at it. But instead of Octavia accepting the non-explanations and forgiving her father, she doesn't this time.

This explains a lot, actually. Like why they show Octavia's magic simmering and how Stolas is clutching the antidepressants despite Octavia never handing them to him in the finished scene.

I don't think she was blaming the pills for what happened. My interpretation is that she thinks "You needed antidepressants to get through the day. You must have been miserable with us! No wonder you chose him!" If anything she should have pointed out that he was prepared to leave her fatherless to save Blitzo.

When she asks if she was an obligation this may not be 100 percent fair to Stolas - his love for her is sincere, after all - there is a nugget of truth there at the same time. Stolas tells Stella (paraphrased), "The only reason I endured this marriage is already 17."
