Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

I guess they buried Mad Catz in Pet Semetary.

You joke, but I have a shitty Mad Catz wired micro Xbox 360 controller that I've had for like 15 years that has outlasted 3 official Microsoft controllers and a Turtle Beach controller. The only issue it has is a little stick sag from a decade and a half of use, and it doesn't even drift. I also have some old Mad Catz N64 controllers that, while being abominations design wise, still function perfectly.

I’m not saying that I don’t believe you. But you must be the only person on earth to have not one, but two functional Mad Catz controllers.

That's completely understandable. I just went looking for the Xbox 360 controller and sadly, it's not Mad Catz, just another shitty off brand called PowerA. Still managed to outlast $200 worth of controllers. Please accept an even older PS2 micro controller. Neither has any issues, minus the hand grips on the N64 controller being cursed. Still the least cursed N64 one I own.

PowerA makes pretty good switch controllers imo, certainly better than Nintendo's overpriced joycons

Mad Catz is fucking legit. Of all the third-party "knockoff" vendors, they consistently churned out top-tier accessories (controllers, adapters, even power/battery replacements). I don't know how good they are these days, but back in those days they were a fine substitute for "genuine" parts.
Hard disagree, back in the PS2 era they were abysmal. They did get better over time but a large part of that is that third party controllers became so disliked that nobody would buy them and they had to retreat to fight sticks and other high-end items.

edit: I'll say this, though, they're better now than Power A is, those officially branded Power A switch controllers are absolutely awful.

Why did you take a picture of a Kiwi Farms shirt with your anal dildo in frame??

Yeah, they were serviceable at best pre-PS3. They got good during that generation. One of the best controllers for fighting games I ever used came from them.

Cyberpunk co-developer says any 60 FPS Xbox Series can be easily ported to Nintendo Switch 2, despite the console being closer to a PS4 in terms of raw performance
"Since most games tend to be more GPU-bound than CPU-bound when well optimized, the impact of this difference largely depends on the specific game and its target frame rate. Any game shipping at 60 FPS on the Series S should easily port to the Switch 2. Likewise, a 30 FPS Series S game that’s GPU-bound should also port well. Games with complex physics, animations, or other CPU-intensive elements might incur additional challenges in reaching 30 or 60 FPS or require extra optimization during porting."

Yeah Mad Catz had a horrible reputation asides from their fightsticks, which explains why they ended up going bankrupt in 2017. I suppose it's good to hear that whoever bought the brand is doing a decent job.

I can't get myself to touch a Nintendo product again, the stigma nowadays is just too strong. I'd rather look like a jackass in public with a diesel generator hooked up to this than play Mario Kart on my recycled nVidia chip tablet. And... and... you can play 360 games on it! Yeah!

If I saw you playing on that on the subway or at work I'd find it much stranger than whatever bing bing wahoo shenanigans the tendie was up to.

I'd casually show @MF-690T the Switch 2 in my jacket pocket before telling him to stop begging in the subway and get a real job so that he can race me when he gets his own Switch 2.

My friend actually got one and it's quite nice, I was being pretty autistic when I made that comment about the Xbox. I think it even has more RAM, 12GB vs 10GB. Plus the Xbox has gotten more expensive.
I don't know, maybe I'll look into it. Farming Simulator might actually get a non half-assed port so that's cool.

Loving my Switch 2. Finally got around to playing Guardians of Azuma after putting it off for a month to play Fantasy Life 2, and itms waaaaaaay better than I thought it would be.

I’m also playing a little bit of Atelier Yumia and Hitman. Hitman especially is kino.

So what’s with someone getting their switch 2 banned for playing second hand Switch 1 games? How is Nintendo able to do that?
The theory is that rapidly swapping cards trips whatever they use to detect Mig Cards, which would be as retarded as every other design decision they made for the Switch 2.
