Switch carts have an identifier or something that Nintendo checks when you are online, if multiple of the same identifier exists at once they ban the console because its a pirated copy. This happened back at the start of Switch modding when SXOS was a thing, it had an XCI mounter for playing images of cartridges. It spoofed the game being inserted but you would get banned if you went online because Nintendo could see the ID being the same. It's a thing again now that the Mig Switch is doing what SXOS did but in hardware.

Imagine having to grovel with a hardware vendor to let you keep using what you've already paid for after they deliberately destroy it because they think you're doing something illegal (without proof) and having to prove you're a "genuine" customer despite physically possessing both genuine hardware and genuine software on genuine cartridges manufactured by the same fucking vendor.

Nah, I think I'll just stay away from the Switch 2.

With all of the ways that can make a Switch 2 seppuku itself, did Nintendo go the way of companies like EA and changed their EULA so that you can't even sue or file class-action lawsuits against them for this anti-consumer shit tactics?

I don't know. though I talked to a dude months ago "on the fence" about getting a steam deck or switch 2. I told him WITHOUT A DOUBT to get a deck, doubly so if he already has steam. If he didn't follow my advice and bricked his switch 2, I'd laugh
 
I played a friend's Switch 2 briefly. I'm not impressed by Mario Kart World in the least, it's just fine, but it's no DD or DS. There is nothing else for it yet so... I just don't see why anybody would run out and buy it unless they love MKW.

It was neat to see SC2 with Link in it, but they really need to add online lobbies to NSO games.

Yeah, that's been my impression as from watching some youtube playthroughs as well, though I haven't played it. It's good but not good enough to justify buying a Switch 2 for it.

Yeah, it's not even close to good enough to get one for, especially since it's not really different from MK8 if you ignore the "neat, I guess" open world. Double Dash was the peak of the series in terms of creativity, I guess they're too scared to truly shake up the core formula ever again.

That's what everyone said about Baby Mario in Yoshi's Island too, but I was never annoyed by him. Apparently enough people were that there's ROM hacks that disable his crying and maybe the alarm too.
