Used copies like you can buy at Gamestop, typically cheaper than new copies. What are second hand Switch games, exactly?
Used games. Someone bought a game from Facebook marketplace and he got his switch 2 banned. What are second hand Switch games, exactly?

So you're telling me that Nintendo may have killed the used game market? This is the corpo holy grail.Used games. Someone bought a game from Facebook marketplace and he got his switch 2 banned.
That's what people think is happening? I heard it was due to some form of identifier in the game card being copied by the MIG Switch and Nintendo's systems detecting the two systems running the game. The theory is that rapidly swapping cards trips whatever they use to detect Mig Cards, which would be as retarded as every other design decision they made for the Switch 2.

How many worthless nothing posts are you going to make?Total. Nintendo. LOVE.
I've never heard of this before, I know you can get banned for using the mig switch, but I've never heard of consoles getting banned for running used gamesSo what’s with someone getting their switch 2 banned for playing second hand Switch 1 games? How is Nintendo able to do that?
I'll take "shit that never happened" for 200, Alex.So what’s with someone getting their switch 2 banned for playing second hand Switch 1 games? How is Nintendo able to do that?
Switch carts have an identifier or something that Nintendo checks when you are online, if multiple of the same identifier exists at once they ban the console because its a pirated copy. This happened back at the start of Switch modding when SXOS was a thing, it had an XCI mounter for playing images of cartridges. It spoofed the game being inserted but you would get banned if you went online because Nintendo could see the ID being the same. It's a thing again now that the Mig Switch is doing what SXOS did but in hardware. So what’s with someone getting their switch 2 banned for playing second hand Switch 1 games? Imagine having to grovel with a hardware vendor to let you keep using what you've already paid for after they deliberately destroy it because they think you're doing something illegal (without proof) and having to prove you're a "genuine" customer despite physically possessing both genuine hardware and genuine software on genuine cartridges manufactured by the same fucking vendor. That said, if it happens to you with a game you've purchased from a store like GameStop I've heard that opening a support ticket with Nintendo and showing them the receipt tends to fix these bans.
Honestly I've heard of so much shit bricking the switch 2, modding, used games, even just non official peripherals. Bet my 8bitdo controller would brick it if I tried to pair them
Nintendo really is burning all their good will to sell more consoles
I don't know. though I talked to a dude months ago "on the fence" about getting a steam deck or switch 2. I told him WITHOUT A DOUBT to get a deck, doubly so if he already has steam. If he didn't follow my advice and bricked his switch 2, I'd laughWith all of the ways that can make a Switch 2 seppuku itself, did Nintendo go the way of companies like EA and changed their EULA so that you can't even sue or file class-action lawsuits against them for this anti-consumer shit tactics?
"No you don't understand bro, Nintendo writing about their "right" to brick your console in the EULA is just standard practice. They aren't going to actually ever do it."So what’s with someone getting their switch 2 banned for playing second hand Switch 1 games? How is Nintendo able to do that?
Yeah, that's been my impression as from watching some youtube playthroughs as well, though I haven't played it. It's good but not good enough to justify buying a Switch 2 for it.I played a friend's Switch 2 briefly. I'm not impressed by Mario Kart World in the least, it's just fine, but it's no DD or DS. There is nothing else for it yet so... I just don't see why anybody would run out and buy it unless they love MKW.
Wait for Donkey Kong BananzaYeah, that's been my impression as from watching some youtube playthroughs as well, though I haven't played it. It's good but not good enough to justify buying a Switch 2 for it.
I still think it's headed for a 3DS-like price cut sometime in year two. I'm going to hold off until then.Wait for Donkey Kong Bananza
