He honestly seems incapable of ever living a normal life again. It feels like he’s done so much damage to his brain and chemistry that every waking moment is like clawing his way out of hell. You can see it in his eyes, the misery, the horror of simply existing. He leads a damned, cursed life. He was always fucked up compared to a normal person, but this? All his fault. But drugs are fun!

There’s no real happiness left for him, not in the way regular people experience it. He’s likely burned out his receptors, and any meaningful recovery is a distant, uphill crawl. That’s the cruel edge of addiction people don’t talk about enough - the long-term emotional ruin.

That’s why he’s constantly chasing scraps of dopamine: starting fights with Aaron, petty squabbles with irrelevant people, obsessing over every perceived slight. Impotent rage, bitter seething, and tiny hollow “wins” are all he has left to feel anything that is not depression. It’s the only thing keeping his broken self afloat.
