I find it so weird. Normally when you create such a story driven game, you should write the whole story first and plan everything.
Atleast I think that is the way. Movies do that too or am I wrong?

I mean, not always; look at the Disney Star Wars movies where they started a whole trilogy without any plan whatsoever, or how tentpole movies (especially capeshit) keep going back for reshoots over and over in recent years. But ideally, yes, you should have a general idea of where you're going with the story before you start the actual work of bringing it to life.

It seems to me like he's aping Toby Fox again. Consider how Deltarune has been releasing in parts over the past few years as he finishes them, and then look at Mald's game. He probably assumes that if he keeps dragging his feet on getting anything done, people will think that it will be just as huge and magnificent, and then he'll get all the praise that he feels entitled to for working so hard. Thing is, I'm pretty sure Toby's got things worked out already with regards to his story, and most of it is just development work now. Meanwhile, Mald is too lazy and stupid to finish a simple RPG, both writing and dev.

Criticising his code is trendy right now, and the main message of these videos is that development is slow because he created an unmaintainable mess. Maldy is responding to this by saying that the code is not the reason, coding is actually the easy part. The real reason is writing, since it's so hard to authentically write maldy's characters. To me it seems like Mald is asking for a review of his writing. It's definitely not what he wants, but it's what he's asking for.

My two cents as someone who writes for fun is that yeah, writing takes a good amount of time, but there's something called a first draft. I've never fully developed a game but i've messed around with modding and the route i've always taken has been to create a first draft of all the writefaggotry, doesn't matter how cringey or poorly written or stupid it is, and make sure everything's in working order before going back and making the writing not shit. If Maldy has as much experience in writing as he does in programming, it'd make sense if he had no idea what a first draft was.

I've played Here Comes Niko and it's a decently made platformer collectathon.
I would say it's a very fitting title if you're looking to introduce video games to a child, and you don't want them to get addicted to Minecraft or get cancer by playing Fortnite.
It's a cute little game with colorful animals where you jump around, collect things, help others, there are no real enemies so you essentially cannot fail, die, or get hurt (no game overs at all). And the music's nice.
Incidentally it's made by the same studio that released A Hat in Time, which was my personal GOTY of 2017.
