I agree that that the people who voted Trump because they thought he would clean house(irrationally in my opinion, particularly after not getting the promised house cleaning in his first term) are going to be demoralized, but what exactly do the democrats bring to the table for these voters? More of the same increasingly unpopular identity politics? Won't this trend towards depressed turnout for both parties, which Republicans generally benefit from? I guess the new Republican populist coalition isn't exactly the old school neocon GOP, but I'm willing to bet depressed turnout favoring Republicans in general still holds, especially if you look at trends from 2016 and 2020. Even the few somewhat popular insurgent candidates that win in democratic primaries like Mamdami are addicted to race baiting identity politics which makes them DOA on the national stage.

The most critical thing guerilla warfare against the government requires, is popular support. It's not really about exploitable weaknesses in the security forces. It's not even so much about inaction on the part of said forces. It's a population that is willing to be uncooperative with investigations, to get supplies to the guerilla fighters or hide them, and to say about them "they kind of have a point."
