I bet he's going after restreamers like Raw Phil and some others where nothing was added besides some gif images and the chats on the side.
Na his focus is Doody and Memeology for sure but again he isn't going to do shit.

DSP can click a button right now and take monetization and/or shut down restreamers but he chooses not to. He would rather try and double dip by taking down his own stream and cutting it up into videos then protect his content. It's at the point where detractors are offered a chance by YouTube to take claim DSP's content because he doesn't keep his streams up so the restreamers are seen as the originals.

Raw Phil content is transformative hate to break it to people who think it isn't people have went to court and lost trying to do what DSP is talking about doing. It makes no sense for DSP to spend hundreds of thousands in legal fees to try and shut down any detractors or recoup "lost wages" or whatever he thinks he is owed.

Even changing the title of a video to something different has been seen as "transformative" enough in a legal sense so has the content being made for a different audience.

DSP has said this same exact shit about how he is going to sue for real this time and then cried months later about how he doesn't care what detractors do with his content so he is an unreliable narrator as to what he is going to do. He wants to guilt detractors into paying him a fee to detract that's it.

if he did go to Connecticut and he had to talk to his parents and other people, I can see him being put in the position where he had to explain some of the more egregious stuff you can find when you google his name. Naturally he'd try to say that there are mentally ill detractors who are running a 24/7 online smear campaign against him in order to create drama and make money off it. Anyone who had to endure listening to him ramble for more than a few minutes would try to cut the conversation short with, "Oh, you should sue those people who are doing that to you," and after hearing that a few times DSP must have convinced himself that it might be time to actually start going after certain detractors.

It's not that "transformative", but if it's not monetized or would cause a significant sway/loss in contributions, then it may be protected under Fair Use.

What you talk about changing the title, I'm not aware of such case, but as you know it's on a case-by-case basis, so we cannot tell (no one can, until it happens & resolves).
because he doesn't keep his streams up so the restreamers are seen as the originals.
I had to check again because I forgot.

I don't think it's the case because for one, it's his content initially even if it's deleted, so the "raw" footage is his, its ownership doesn't get magically transferred to others because they still have the video up while he doesn't, and two, the videos are not "down", they're just privated, like:

I'd have to find the stream but ALT flat out said he gets things from YouTube asking if he wants to claim shit from DSP and other detractors get them as well.

My point with the Raw Phil thing is that DSP wouldn't spend hundreds of thousands for pennies in an uncertain case at best where he wouldn't have the public support of H3 and if he ran a fundraiser like they did he wouldn't get funded.

IF DSP wants to stop restreamers/detractors he needs to use the tools YouTube gives him first and keep using them and file DMCA's and whatever else if he actually wants something to get done but he refuses to do so so anything he says right now is meaningless.

If Phil files a lawsuit against detractors over stolen content I will literally post a video of myself eating a hat.
The bargain has been made, even if it has a non-existent chance of happening.
and if he ran a fundraiser like they did he wouldn't get funded.
But it would be funny, can you imagine the line up of donations on the board?

Jaxx Raxor donated 1000$
-You got this King!

GetAJobYouLazyBumREAL donated 1$
-Read name and apply
...
So on, so forth.

DSP's claim to fame is back in 2005, he got 4th place in Street Fighter 2 Turb (a now 30+ year old game). It wasn't even a CPS2 board game either, it was the PS1 version, which means it wasn't arcade perfect. So he tries to hold himself up as some sort of big name, when his best placement was 4th place in a weaker version of a game, and only did it once, in 2005.
It's also worth noting that Phil's 4th place was also heavily due to the fact that many top players didn't enter that tournament. Phil will always mix beating a top level on some other tourney as having beaten them on EVO 2005, but that was not the case. The whole 4th place at EVO has many layers of pathetic and unintentional comedy, for example, many on the FGC could argue that EVO 2005 was NOT a major precisely because the level of competition was so low that despite being the biggest event, it didn't have enough top level players to count as a major. Of course, Phil would cry at this idea and say that EVO is EVO, but many use this criteria since there are many events besides EVO and sometimes there are small events with many good players, so to not count that would be unfair. This way "winning a major" means something since it implies there was tough competition, not just money or exposure.

Another less talked about aspect of Phil's biggest accomplishment (4th place) is that he was still playing Super Turbo exclusively in a time where most top players were juggling Third Strike, CvS, MvC2 and a few others, so yes, Phil came dead fucking last to the end of ST2's competitive scene and even then he never became a top player. He was there, but literally no one saw him as an actual competitor. There was a thread on SRK forums where Justin Wong is quite literally begging people for money matches. Naturally no one takes him offer since it's a guaranteed money loss, but the funny part is that, completely umprompted, people beg Phil for some money matches because everyone knows he's easy money, and of course, Phil tries to start shit with Justin, who completely ignores his existence. Many of this history is documented, so it's not even open to interpretation, you can see how people always tought Phil was a joke. No one ever took him seriously.

The ironic part is that the biggest thing he's ever accomplished as a competitive player was only possible because he abused the same tactics he cries about nowadays. His 4th place was nothing but spam and literal pattern play and abusing broken mechanics. If 2005 EVO Phil played 2025 Phil, past Phil would say present Phil is a fucking scrub while present Phil calls his past self a fucking no life scrub braindead retard moron troll. And both would be correct.

Phil tries to start shit with Justin
And before anyone brings it up yeah Phil beat Justin on one of his worst days but we did get that great soundbyte of that fucking faggoty school shooter looking Polack saying to Daigo who is like the Royce Gracie of the early FGC that he's next bitch and I could imagine Daigo just not even registering that this schlubby fuck was worth any contention.

If someone is indeed "coaching" him then is gonna be interesting to see how he will behave as the H3 lawsuit continues, though i feel he will become more brazen culminating in him possibly doing something like a Gofundme or some dumb shit to sue de(n)tractors. I like to think the "coach" is just his dents on discords sending him links of wikipedia and pretending to know law.

There are many parallels to how his stream changed to the way Games Done Quick has gone over the years.

If you've seen the current GDQs, you can see how much it feels like watching a Phil stream. Down to incentives, goals, and asking for money constantly as one example. LETS GET TO THE GOAL!

Keepin it simple, just dudes on a couch chillin playin games to what we got what feels like commercialized corporate slop just to draw in people to syphon money. Videogames are the last priority when it comes to these things now.
I stopped watching GDQ like 7-8 years ago when it became tranny freak central but even back then it was turning into a money grubbing operation for a shitty charity.

Yeah Phil is pretty good at a handful of games that he played a lot way back when. The problem with Phil isn't so much that he's bad at games (he is bad at a lot of games though) but his toxic asshole attitude and complete inability to accept blame for anything ever. He puts on a fake nice guy persona when he's playing someone he knows is a pro streamer like Justin Wong or that time he got whomped by Snake Eyez but against anyone else he's a massive prick when he loses, and an even bigger prick when he wins.

He was fighting some top tiers too though, Sagat at the end, and he honestly picked him apart until he got hit with a stray super. His excuses are stupid though, I've literally never heard so many rapid-fire, piss poor excuses from a person ever.

He does not want to play actual good players just beat up on shitters while crying about rollback netcode or his 3rd joystick in 2 years breaking (not actually broken he just can't do inputs)
Sorry just need to debunk this because it pops up a lot but @shekelshoah666 said it best...

Phil has played fighting games for 25 years. He's going to be better than your average casual or even new-ish player learning the game, which makes him probably better than 50% of players in most fighting games, say a SF6 or Tekken 8. And when you look at older games, Phil has ancillary knowledge of what works/what doesn't in those games, so maybe bump that % up a bit. Pairing that with the fact that in every "old school" fighting game, Phil either uses 1) top tier characters, 2) broken characters that have aspects that a casual would not know how to cancel, such as Tron Bonne's assist in MvC2 or Blanka as a whole in CvS2, or 3) a combo of both.

I will die on this hill and say it until people realize this... Phil against anybody with a pulse might win 10% of the time, regardless of the game. As somebody who for some strange reason watched him play a lot of SF6, and then watched him play a lot of MvC2 since I know that game fairly well, the vast majority of his wins are either against casuals, the other player making mistakes and Phil eeking out a win, or Phil using top tiers and just winning because better characters/more knowledge. Phil is not good at fighting games. The same way that me having a 1.5 K/D spread in COD doesn't make me anything better than slightly better than casuals. (Funny enough COD is another game where Phil vs anybody with a pulse gets stomped)

The legal larp is just Phil's desperate way to get attention off whatever happened last week. Unfortunately some are taking the bait.
Phil is not suing anyone. If Phil files a lawsuit against detractors over stolen content I will literally post a video of myself eating a hat.
He couldn't even rent out his 2nd empty condo, no shot Phil could get through a lawsuit.
