Young cats don't need to get their nails trimmed. Their natural behaviors wear their claws down. Also, when they're young you can get them used to being held and having their paws handled, and start clipping their nails yourself. Throwing a young, healthy cat in a carrier to take to a groomer every few months to trim its nails is stupid, wasteful, and needlessly stressful for the cat.

Old cats' claws start to harden, which is why they get embedded in their toes. If you weren't a total retard for all those years you had the cat, you trim them yourself. It's not hard.

Chantal doesn't have much of a conscience or a sense of shame. But if she did, I'd say guilt over BBJ's claws situation weighs heavily on her. This is all performative though, just like her Muslim larp.

She likely already has a return ticket from Beirut to Canada, but she'd still need to get back to Lebanon and that might be an expensive exercise at a time when it's probable that a lot of Syrians are once again trying to make their way back into neighbouring countries.

Salah himself has only been in Syria long enough to have minimal contacts and a minimal understanding of how things currently work there. They are not well placed to survive even internal displacement in a country where millions of other people are displaced, and they don't have the money to buy themselves out of every hardship.
