Celeste consulted with Nick, who graciously agreed to a small fine as long as it was less than $50, that being a symbolic amount for him.

The state obeyed, what else are they going to do.

(Nick won’t pay the $44 anyway).

The funniest thing is he doesn’t realize he’s created such immense expectations with the drawn out process that there’s no way the crap he produces will live up to his hype.

Good point. Minnesota mosquitoes are absolute, otherworldly menaces. My only skepticism is that there's just one.

But yes, this speculation and the "Celeste is leaning on the prosecutor(s)" is goofy. Nick was a twit for bringing a lawyer to an expired registration hearing, but in his situation of being on probation for a big fucking felony, I suppose it makes reasonable sense. But typically, if you just fricking get your tabs re-upped you don't have to pay the full fare. Now, the fact of his 8 million other outstanding tickets should (I mean, morally, not referencing any legal requirement) have triggered some skepticism, but whatever.
