This entire situation with cat made me think of that I never seen him do anything beyond holding and playing with ferrets (probably for the best). The obvious answer is parasocial relationships, viewing a stream can feel like "hanging out with friends" for some people and they develop a one-sided attachment to the streamer who has no idea they exist outside of maybe reading their username while thanking them for a donation/subscription.

However, I think for Moldy Furfag it's more that he attracts the same people that self-help books attract. The kind of people who maybe don't have positive influences in their lives, or don't have goals/direction. He has his "wholesome persona" and gives advice that is actually common sense but the kids/neets who watch him are too retarded to have common sense, or too fatherless to have had common sense instilled in them. I think his viewers see him parasocially as their "internet dad" and that's why they always rush to defend him no matter what deplorable shit comes to light about him.

The only thing Mald has ever done that is even vaguely positive is trying to encourage people to be creative ("anybody can make games"), but the problem is that once theyre drawn in by his bullshit, he leads them astray because of his total lack of real game dev experience/ability.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a strategic move from him, leading people astray so that he doesnt get shown up by a brand new dev who can actually complete a game in a reasonable amount of time. Kind of aligns with his stream schedule strategy of trying to minimize competition.

Alright I did some searching myself yesterday and I found a specific snippet of Washington Law. Specifically RCW 18.92.260

This part of it, I believe is also key:

(6) No animal control agency or humane society may operate under this chapter without registering with the department. An application for registration shall be made upon forms provided by the department and shall include the information the department reasonably requires, as provided by RCW 43.70.280. The department shall establish registration and renewal fees as provided by RCW 43.70.250. A registration fee shall accompany each application for registration or renewal.

This is Washington state as well. I reached out to the Washington State Department of Agriculture with a general question for clarity on this. If I get an answer, I'll let you know what they say. I could be wrong since this seems to be also including low level income households with vet services. It's written in a strange way.
