I gave it a night to think about it and the theory just keeps growing stronger;
Europe and America grew not just because of Christianity and our shared values, but a significant part of it was to spite india.
I think that the last few years we've just remembered that fact.
It's a bit like in some fantasy/sci-fi settings where the protag finds the power source of their enemy/allies' civilization/OP wonder weapon all comes from some powerful artifact hidden deep in the heart of the machinery, made so long ago everyone knowing about it died of old age and everyone subsists off of something they don't even know exists.
But instead of this it's [hating indians], a core tenant of the power of the west that powered our absolute superiority and we're starting to remember our roots.
Hopefully we'll learn it again and drive away rot and rust from the titan.
