The belief systems of a lot of political ideologues and other nutcases become easier to understand once you take a look at their personal lives. What the vast majority of them have in common, no matter where on the political spectrum they are, is that their own house, their own life, is in disarray in some form or another, and they lack the courage to face it and find a way to fix it, so they direct that energy outwards instead.

Mao, in his youth, was an anarcho communist. He was a huge fan of Peter Kropotkin's works, and read them profusely. His retarded ideas, like the peoples' communes, can be traced back to that. Marx, at one point, was so enamored by it he wanted to join an Owenite, Christian commune in Texas. He applied for immigration status to Texas in 1850, but it never got processed. There's also the fact that normal people don't splurge on stupid shit as often as self-proclaimed leftists/socialists do. There are things you can do to limit your consumption under capitalism even if socialists are correct in that we are forced to participate in capitalism in order to survive.

For example, stop spending money on Apple products, it blows my mind at how leftists seem to love Apple products more than most other people, considering how their products are overpriced and underpowered (building cheaper PCs, or finding cheaper laptops, than equivalent mac computers is practically a meme), AND how Apple works harder than any other company to lock you into their ecosystem against your will. Just get a Windows computer, or if you REALLY hate Microsoft/Google, there are more and more normie friendly flavors of Linux you can use, and distributions of Android with all the Google shit stripped out.

Learn to cook and buy cheaper, healthier groceries, stop spending money on deceptively expensive goyslop and fast food.

Me personally? I got by just fine with a cheap shitty android phone for half a decade.

Even if socialists don't spend money on stupid/overpriced shit more often than normal people do, it's certainly more noteworthy when they do, because they should be above that.

Everything should be run based of mutual self-interest, which is not too far off to how actual pirate republics operated. Among the other people and movements that Stirner influenced include Emma Goldman (anarcha-feminist), Émile Armand (free love, no rules governing sexual conduct), and the illegalist movement (embracing criminality as a lifestyle or philosophy).

The only appeal that Stirner would have to these right wingers is that Stirner rejected many utopian ideas associated with anarcho-socialism, or the idea that people would stop trying to dominate each other in the absence of a state. Or the implication in Stirner's ideas that might makes right. Stirner rejected the idea of equality as a "spook," the left wing is usually defined as being really into ideas like "equality."

Other than that, that there would be any sort of connection between Stirner and right wing authoritarianism is indeed mind-blowing, as there are plenty of ideas associated with Stirner that would also disgust most rightists.

As much as leftists screech about "fascism," and as much as we can appreciate the irony that there's a fair amount of overlap between fascism and far left ideologies, there comes a point where you gotta realize that something doesn't have to be "fascist" to be fucking terrible.

Or that inside most "anarchists" is a tyrant screaming to get out. Anarchists don't hate the police or the state so much as they envy them.
