Why isn't he rotting in prison right now, especially in light of the fact he had priors? By contrast, I can't get away with anything. I got arrested for robbing a convenience store because some idiotic pig thought the box-cutter I use for work was a weapon. I was held for five hours until they found somebody else. I never know behind what corner a pig lurks and that scares me.

I have a schizophrenia diagnosis; it doesn't help. In any conflict with a normie I get blamed automatically because I have a "mental illness." Theoretically, I am still a ward of the state and if someone from the local mental health services wanted to she could just have me locked up in a hospital. They let me go from the group home because I made life miserable for the house parents and they got tired of sending me to the hospital for misbehaving; the hospital got tired too; the doctors decided they didn't want someone whose only issue was calling a succubus on a power trip a bitch or a cunt. A house parent who was a chad and kind of liked me as much as any normie can decided to let me find a job and use him as a personal reference; he understood I was more trouble than I was worth.

I am still a loose nut and I am sure my departure was noted at the administrative levels of county mental health. It is likely my departure was reported to police and I am probably under surveillance on that account. There is an unusual amount of pig activity at my motel and I occasionally see a guy sitting in a car that I don't recognize as a neighbor.

Hell, Chris had the mental clarity and strength of will to see what he wanted and find a way to make it happen. @Andrew09876 has a list of fears that he uses to justify lacking those qualities.

I got a job, a room, a motorcycle, a computer and a cell phone all in the last two years. It's better than the existence of 90% of wizards. I have rational fears of losing it.

If you believe that sex is entirely about your Attractiveness Stats and the contents of your Material Goods Bag of Holding, sure. Permavirgins are generally well below average, male and female. If not in looks, then they have other problems like crippling social anxiety or they don't know what a shower is. The vast majority of average guys get laid. I've done my bit towards that, too
Edit: you're right of course, it does just confirm their beliefs, I like to hear them discuss how they feel about it though.

Since you're living in a motel, the reason for so much police presence, or somebody conducting surveillance in the parking lot, is going to be the kind of criminal activity that happens in motels--namely drugs and prostitution. It has nothing to do with you.

No agency has the time and resources to waste on one guy with schizophrenia who couldn't get along in a group home. Some people just can't deal with a group home situation, and the rules and restrictions involved, or chafe under authority (shit, I would). But that doesn't automatically mean you're a dangerous lone nut and warrant surveillance, or that anybody working in mental health is spending much time thinking about you at all. They all have criminals, or truly dangerous crazy people, to deal with.

So as long as you're getting along okay on your own (and it sounds like you are, if you're holding down a job and otherwise taking care of yourself) and not an immediate threat to anybody, you're not who the cops at your motel are after.

It's all thoroughly pathetic, as I said in my first post. I have no doubt you have a laundry list of reasons why this must be so and nothing short of an act of the Divine could fix you, but none of that is true. "Insanity" is a logically incoherent concept on so many levels. If "insanity" means not perceiving reality correctly, then aren't all of us insane from time to time? Why should failure to come to a correct conclusion be labeled a medical condition?

If "insanity" is a habitual, pig-headed persistence in wrongness despite all evidence to the contrary, what the Scholastics called invincible ignorance, how is even this a medical condition?

Even if you think such a cognitive state is a disease, would that make, for example, communists insane? Belief in the Marxist pipe dream of an egalitarian utopia strikes me as the craziest thing possible in light of the most superficial knowledge of the history of the 20th century. Does this mean communists have a medical condition for which they need to be committed? How about Christian fundamentalists looking forward to the Rapture? How about their even more excitable Islamic cousins? If not why is anybody truly labeled insane except for the fact they are having difficulties in life and are becoming inconvenient for others.
