"Insanity" is a logically incoherent concept on so many levels. If "insanity" means not perceiving reality correctly, then aren't all of us insane from time to time? Why should failure to come to a correct conclusion be labeled a medical condition?

Does this mean communists have a medical condition for which they need to be committed? How about Christian fundamentalists looking forward to the Rapture? How about their even more excitable Islamic cousins? If not why is anybody truly labeled insane except for the fact they are having difficulties in life and are becoming inconvenient for others.

Whoa, so what you're saying, man, is like, insanity is a metaphor for the fractured human condition so it's just as unreal and untrue as any of our perceptions claiming to be "reality" and does not therefore exist outside of the observer's personal set of illusions. No, I don't believe reality is subjective. However, the relevant categories we need to sort it out are truth and falsehood, not sanity and insanity. How do we distinguish being "insane" from being wrong, or even invincibly ignorant?

Your example of the man who thinks he's Galileo is mistaken. If no evidence can dissuade him, he's invincibly ignorant, but what makes him insane? If he wears his pants on his head he has nothing but an unorthodox fashion sense.

I'm always kinda surprised by some of the "V-card for life" guys. I've met TONS of ugly fat dudes who manage to get laid by average-ish girls. Despite being super nerdy, having neckbeards and spending all their free-time on games and shit, they still manage to hook up with some mousey to homely girl from a games/comic/whatever convention or in their WoW guild and build awful, codependent relationships with them.

Shit, my wife, who is easily an 8 on a bad day, has a few ex's I simply cannot gather how they managed it. My buddy who's still in the CG looks like Milhouse Van Houten at 30 and he pulls decent pussy just by being willing to simply talk to girls and crack a few dirty jokes. All girls want is someone that's clean, interesting and able to at the very least talk sexy. To completely cut yourself off from women because your dad never sat you down and told you there are worse things than rejection and heartbreak just seems tragic, because as it turns out women are fucking amazing.
