The author consistently maintained "whatever you think montauk is, it's actually way worse." But come on, it's just endless violent rape. There's nothing else it can be.
it could be reading Goodnight Moon.

A lot of the Safe/Euclid objects are better than super edgy Keter shit that destroys the universe unless you fart on it 15 times a day or whatever.
I remember the former- SCP-083. I was actually gonna mention it because it pissed me off the first time I read it. The actual entry itself isn't bad, but then there's a side log which is pretty much just Dracula with someone's sue (Dr Kondraki) as a Van-Helsing type character. The writing's standard shitty fanfiction-tier dross, with plenty of Buffy-Speak. It almost reads like a parody, hut it really sticks out given the general good quality of the content at the time.Oh yeah, the Montauk maneuver. Still on there shockingly, though I'm surprised it didn't go the way of the really old sue-SCPs that used to dot them since it heavily implies horrific rape to this young girl.
Speaking of those old sue-SCPs, vaguely remember them. One was essentially a Nice Guy Vampire, and the other was a fucking furry. Like actual furry. The former was killed by a suescientist and the other was put to sleep.
I find those "[redacted]" things lazy. There are plenty of people who like it, but I say they have shit opinions.

The DATA EXPUNGED shit works well enough in certain situations. It's similar to the noodle incident from Calvin and Hobbes where leaving details out can make it funnier, or in this case scarier. Fear of the unknown is powerful. When a whole page is full of DATA EXPUNGED shit, though, the writer is just being a lazy twat.
Akin to that, this one really fucked me up after I read it a few years ago:I've hopped through a few stories, and I think one good incident of using [DATA EXPUNGED] is SCP 439 when they mention how accurate 439 is at detecting when a subject is asleep. Not only could I believe that would be blacked out in an official report, but it lends the idea that if you encountered this scp, there may be a chance you'll be okay (but also the probability could be 10 out of 10 and therefore you are fucked.)
The other two expunges don't make much sense tho
Still, my favorite one so far. Also this
scp become popular because creepy pasta fans thought it was real and now their tweeting some shit about fag fucking. Its like their not even trying to keep up the picture of a dark shadowy organisation anymore
The sperging and SJW takeover is VERY behind the scenes, but participating in the website at all besides just being a lurker makes it very obvious fastIt's a community and it's made up of multiple people so having some spergs is unavoidable. Most edgy teens who joined during the indie horror game fade left cause their edgy stories were never accepted, and the site is kept pretty clean. Dunno what these sjw vibes are, this is the last possible site that'd ever fit into anything political, but the content itself doesn't seem to suffer from it for now so whatever.
The earlier entries are pretty boring and left there just for the mods to say "you can't do this lame subject, it's been done already"
Some can be good inspiration on how to insert bizzarre stuff into a realistic world, and the language is clear and professional but not too pretentious.
I'm personally only interested in object ones; my favorites are the vending machine, the pizza box, the toaster and the killer tomatoes (which is both a ref to a shitty b-movie and a mockup of 'thing that kills you' tropes)
The only "drama" in the site I'm familiar with is the constant making and deleting of scp-001 entries; I swear half of the site's scrapped entries are of 001 only
They just don't know what to do with it, and users are desperate to get that spot
