Honestly, it pisses me off when the EU tries to throw its weight around like this. Why do they have the right to make other countries take in migrants they don't want to take? Why should other countries be forced to accommodate these people when Germany is the one who opened the floodgates?

Poland and Hungary receive subsidies from the EU, are part of the huge free market and enjoy a rather lush number of advantages. That's why the EU can ask them to "take one for the team". As little as people like to hear it, it's factually wrong to say Germany "opened the floodgates". When Merkel mumbled her famous "Wir schaffen das", the wave of refugees was already spread out all across the Balkans (with winter right around the corner, no less). And her very next step was to pay off Erdogan to close the route on his side of the border. Yes, that was a fucking stupid thing to do and Merkel is fucking incompetent on every conceivable level - yet that doesn't change the order in which things happened.

I don't know if Poland can economically afford to leave the EU, but I bet its people will prefer sanctions.

They can't and even if they could they wouldn't. Poland is mortally afraid of getting shat on by Russia, so they need some allies and the EU is a defensive Union as much as it's an ecnomic one.

I support Eastern Europe leaving this shit, and the PIGS (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece) also leaving. (I mean, they're not the richest countries, but I think leaving behind SJWs, they're tired of this refugee nonsense too).

Refugees exclusively enter Europe via Italy, Greece and Spain. If these countries left the EU, they wouldn't just be broke, they'd also be fucking stuck with a shitton of refugees that they can't just let slip away towards central europe that easily anymore. And all of them are economically dependent on the EU.

Poland will happily take Germany's money to grow their economy, but they'll happily tell the EU to fuck off once they're strong enough. We might very well be reaching that moment.

Pretty much this. Eastern european countries are happy to take advantage of subsidies but the moment they have to actually do something in exchange it's all "Ugh, those damn fascists in Brussels!"

The eastern half is screwing the west over for money, the south is completely fucked, the North West just fucked off and the North East is collapsing under a refugee crisis. United? They've been naturalizing at a rate of about 5-10% a year despite the fact that, until last year, they had no need or requirement to do so. Its possible this rate will rise now due to simple convenience's sake and the fact most of them qualify easily (some have been resident here for well over the 5 year residency requirement).

A lot of them are simply here for the money and nobody makes no bones about it. Others are marrying into british families and simply "tidying up the paperwork" by becoming naturalized citizens.

They do not qualify as easily as one would assume. Prior to 2012 poles were required to register in the uk, however the rule was not enforced and the vast majority never did.

Now to naturalise as an eu citizen one needs a permanant residency card, which in turn requires 5 years excercising of a treaty right and to pass a good character test. However if you were here unregistered prior to 2012 you automatically fail the test. It will only really be from next year large numbers of poles qualify for naturalisation without having the defacto requirement of having registered under the pre 2012 scheme.

Not even remotely, the UK received almost as much money in EU subsidies as they were paying to the EU. All in all, the net value of UK payments to the EU was equal to that of the Netherlands.
