I feel Talk To Staff is a bit too stuffy for some people feeling comfortable asking small or simple questions to moderators, and I also believe there could be some more levity between staff and users.

Try to avoid using this to interrogate about moderation decisions, like "Why was I banned?" since that's something that genuinely should be handled in Talk To Staff. Threads posted there will be treated with more urgency and seriousness. Generally.

Use this thread to ask us questions, serious or not, and we'll answer them accordingly to whimsy.

One of the boards I moderate is the Prospering Grounds so I have to review and approve some horrifying threads (trannies, zoophiles, furries, etc.)

Double posting - I wish retards would just edit their original post instead of creating a new post.

What is the average dedication time to be a mod here?

It's kind of a black box for me how much work it takes to even consider taking on the job.

It really depends on the day. Some days you have nothing to moderate because everything is calm, but there are other days where shit is popping off so you have to be a lot more active.

Is there a janny rule of thumb for giving out pink doritos as opposed to bans, or is it a matter of individual taste?

There is no general rule of thumb, expect that the user is extremely disruptive. Each mod has a good idea and feel for the flow of the forums they manage so there is a lot of flexibility.

Mods also can reach out to each other for a second opinion, etc.

There is no sperg sheet per se, but mods to share consistent problem users so all mods can be on the lookout for retardation.

Yes - I love to cook so I always bring food and booze to parties.

As @0 0 said, we have a mod board where we can discuss on-going issues, bans, ask for advice, etc.

What would be your most fun thread to be around, and what’s your personal worst thread to be around?

This changes because I follow a lot of cows, but I have been consistently enjoying the Anisa/Anisa's Husband thread throughout all of 2025. I have also been loving the Hasan thread since Dogtober 7th. The worst thread to be around is any zoophile thread because it makes me sick the things people do to innocent animals.

The global mods @Trombonista @Useful_Mistake and @0 0 have been nothing but helpful and patient with me when I was learning the ropes of moderating. There is no sense of superiority among any of the mods I have worked with.

The janny thread is relatively mundane, we are discussing site moderation, not gossiping about other users on the site.
