The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer

it was just a slice of life workplace sitcom for tumblr users the whole time instead of the horror show it was pitched as.
I find this to be a running theme with indie shows. The creators have all the power they could ever want, but then they can never stick to the original Pitch. Murder Drones, ADC, the Viv shows, I wonder if Lackadaisy or Gaslight district can stick to the pitch, but I doubt it. I’m starting to think that studios were instrumental in tardwrangling process with creatives.

I had subs turned on it literally stated down there that "Abel" is annotated an "NPC" before he revealed his "name", what fucking moron did the subtitles?, way to ruin a twist, even if I had already suspected the guy wasn't real.

anyway, probably the most bruh bait-and-switch ever, Goose says its going to "divide the fandom" or some shit, I don't really get what he meant by that, the only thing substantial happening is Caine effectively turning himself into a full antagonist after 6 episodes of ambiguity surrounding his motives.

I really thought this was the episode where we finally get to see more details from both Jax and Ragatha's past since it really has been leading up to that since episode 5, I'm not sure if we are still getting that with only two episodes remaining.

It was alright, it had nowhere near the emotional impact of episode 6 with the twist being a way too obvious to be ever be believable, even without the subs giving it away.

Did you really think they were gonna leave in Episode 7/9?

Just look at Moral Orel. For two seasons it was a black comedy about a town of religious fundamentalists. The finale of the second season then went hard on the melodrama, which persisted even harder into the third season which was only given half the episodes because Adult Swim wasn't happy with the tone shift.

I did guess the brain scan thing back in episode 1, but I don’t think it’ll fully be that. Abel was lying, but I think there was actually some truth mixed in to the story he gave.
Literally everything else Abel said was a lie. Being an old colleague of Kinger, saying Kinger was not to be trusted and they shouldn't ask him anything or bring him with them to escape, hell the whole idea there was a way to escape the game using Matrix-esque buttons hidden behind a bookshelf in Caine's office. I'd politely ask, what makes you think the bit about an evil corporation disappearing people and keeping them in Matrix vats, and never being suspected or exposed, is true?

Goose says its going to "divide the fandom" or some shit, I don't really get what he meant by that,
Oh, that’s easy. People are either going to absolutely despise the bait and switch or not be bothered by it. I admittedly fall into the latter group.

What’s the meaning of all those background spheres? What was Jax past? Why did he press the button? What happened to Ribbit and Kauffmo? Etc.
Seems pretty clear that Jax's past is why he pressed the button; whatever's waiting for him there is in his view worse than being in the circus. I've been theorising for a bit that Jax is kind of a Peter Pan situation, that he has such a teenage boy bully mindset because he really was a teenage boy when he put on the headset.

Reminds me of that Adulting pitch pilot where they wanted funding to make their dream show without constraints, and what they wanted to make was essentially a generic, forgettable Netflix cartoon.

This episode was rather odd. The first third of the episode was unfunny and rather pointless to the story. It was just a delay to the story plus an advertisement for the new merchandise. The visuals of the psychedelic part were nice (I used to be a math nerd, and I like fractals), but the music choice for it was rather lame (there are entire genres dedicated to psychedelic experiences).

The second third was interesting, but not the best. Seeing how many of the tiny details that we got in the first 6 episodes suddenly became relevant reminded me of Murder Drones in a bad way, as MD is infamous for not being straightforward with almost every important piece of lore. The lore dump about how the circus works felt like a major flaw in the pacing.

The last third felt tense, but knowing how there are still two episodes after this one, I already knew the ending wouldn't be so simple. And then the tension was broken with a fakeout. Nothing happened. Everything that the cartoon has built up to felt meaningless. The only things we have left are Kinger being relevant to the creation of the Circus and the fact that characters can abstract.

I don't know how GLITCH will manage to end TADC with nothing happening in the first 7 episodes and only having 2 episodes left. If they somehow manage to make the story of TADC worse than MD's despite having all the opportunities not to do that, then I'm going to laugh so hysterically that you might as well call me the Joker. Hell, if that were to happen, I want someone to remind me to put the Joker on my profile picture.

The HungAryan dub was good as always. There's nothing else I can say regarding that.

While making sure to hold hands with Gangle as if the yuri shippers needed anymore confirmation that THEY'RE TOTALLY HERE AND QUEER AND YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, CHUDS.
Whatever, at least I got my wish of there being no elongated trauma dumping.
I hate shipping culture so much it's unreal. Why can't two people who like each other be just friends? I swear to god there are more couples nowadays in media than genuine close friendships. Not making every single person who gets along with each other a couple would be refreshing for once.

I did like it, more than the last episode even but it's pretty obvious to anyone at this point that Goose is gonna drag all if any answers right until the final episode and even then I expect the whole thing to end in an unresolved punchline. That said it is still cheap to shoehorn a whole beach section that last no more than 3 minutes to sell merch, I know that they need to fund this shit but c'mon.

My other problem is that this is in reality yet another Jax episode, who steals the spotlight to the point that now even Pomni felt like a background character, yeah no shit that it wasn't real. Even in that regard Jax ended up being the voice of reason! Can't wait to see how they manage the squeeze a tiny bit more of drama by making everyone get mad at him for no pressing the fake blue bottom.

Other than that animation was top notch. I don't see the fandom being divided over this, if anything I see people who already have a dislike of the show using this to point out how Goose's storytelling is just cheap, which I would find hard not to agree.

you're getting way too worked up by this nigga, it's not even meant to be as spiteful as you think it is in your head/

nah, the problem I have when it comes to Zooble/Gangle is it seemed to have come out of nowhere in the ending stretches of episode 4 despite nothing prior indicating the two were closer, even for much of the Gangle focus episode where it would be the most appropriate to showcase their relationship, there was very little substantial interactions going on between those two until the very end and then after that they are shown to be suddenly close to the time, its as if Goose suddenly had the idea to quasi-ship these two together in the middle of writing but didn't bother to rework that into the the earlier episodes, wouldn't it really have been that hard to show them hanging out prior?, or maybe write them getting closer over time instead of the weird "here have your yuri(wink wink) ship of the show enjoy!"

I don't even like lesbian relationships (BunnyDoll FTW) but jesus I would've done it better with some additional basic storytelling techniques.

Welp, so far it looks like they're deadass just repeating the same mistake Murder Drones made with its lore, basically refusing to explain anything that actually matters and wasting your time with other bullshit instead. Thank you Trannyworx, very cool.
Bravo, Trannyworx.
ect.

Also to avoid double posting:
The creators have all the power they could ever want, but then they can never stick to the original Pitch.
In Murder Drone's case this was confirmed directly as Liam himself apparently said the series was originally meant to be more comedy focused with little bits of lore sprinkled in rather than the poorly written... uhhh mystery? Horror thriller? Absolute dogshit? Whatever term you want to use to describe it. The change happened at Episode 2 allegedly.
