I find this to be a running theme with indie shows. The creators have all the power they could ever want, but then they can never stick to the original Pitch. Murder Drones, ADC, the Viv shows, I wonder if Lackadaisy or Gaslight district can stick to the pitch, but I doubt it. I’m starting to think that studios were instrumental in tardwrangling process with creatives.it was just a slice of life workplace sitcom for tumblr users the whole time instead of the horror show it was pitched as.
Just look at Moral Orel. For two seasons it was a black comedy about a town of religious fundamentalists. The finale of the second season then went hard on the melodrama, which persisted even harder into the third season which was only given half the episodes because Adult Swim wasn't happy with the tone shift.I find this to be a running theme with indie shows. Literally everything else Abel said was a lie. Being an old colleague of Kinger, saying Kinger was not to be trusted and they shouldn't ask him anything or bring him with them to escape, hell the whole idea there was a way to escape the game using Matrix-esque buttons hidden behind a bookshelf in Caine's office. I'd politely ask, what makes you think the bit about an evil corporation disappearing people and keeping them in Matrix vats, and never being suspected or exposed, is true?I did guess the brain scan thing back in episode 1, but I don’t think it’ll fully be that. Abel was lying, but I think there was actually some truth mixed in to the story he gave.
Oh, that’s easy. People are either going to absolutely despise the bait and switch or not be bothered by it. I admittedly fall into the latter group.Goose says its going to "divide the fandom" or some shit, I don't really get what he meant by that,
Seems pretty clear that Jax's past is why he pressed the button; whatever's waiting for him there is in his view worse than being in the circus. I've been theorising for a bit that Jax is kind of a Peter Pan situation, that he has such a teenage boy bully mindset because he really was a teenage boy when he put on the headset. What’s the meaning of all those background spheres? What was Jax past? Why did he press the button? What happened to Ribbit and Kauffmo? Etc.
Reminds me of that Adulting pitch pilot where they wanted funding to make their dream show without constraints, and what they wanted to make was essentially a generic, forgettable Netflix cartoon.I find this to be a running theme with indie shows. I hate shipping culture so much it's unreal. Why can't two people who like each other be just friends? I swear to god there are more couples nowadays in media than genuine close friendships. Not making every single person who gets along with each other a couple would be refreshing for once. While making sure to hold hands with Gangle as if the yuri shippers needed anymore confirmation that THEY'RE TOTALLY HERE AND QUEER AND YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, CHUDS.
Whatever, at least I got my wish of there being no elongated trauma dumping.
you're getting way too worked up by this nigga, it's not even meant to be as spiteful as you think it is in your head/While making sure to hold hands with Gangle as if the yuri shippers needed anymore confirmation that THEY'RE TOTALLY HERE AND QUEER AND YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, CHUDS.
The only thing like I Have No Mouth is the initial premise, they abandoned it immediately to go on quirky tumblr jobsThis show is basically I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream forkidsmanchildren, isn't it?
In Murder Drone's case this was confirmed directly as Liam himself apparently said the series was originally meant to be more comedy focused with little bits of lore sprinkled in rather than the poorly written... uhhh mystery? Horror thriller? Absolute dogshit? Whatever term you want to use to describe it. The change happened at Episode 2 allegedly. The creators have all the power they could ever want, but then they can never stick to the original Pitch.
