I wonder... did it ever slightly dawn on him that the reason people avoided him was his horrible hateful attitude? His autobiography mainly reads like: "I wanted this and this and that but people wouldn't give it to me pronto. This made me extremely angry. People are so evil. It is very wrong of them to not give me what I want!"
I mean, didn't he ever for one second think: "Hm, if I want people to be good to me I should be good to them!"
When some Jerkop asked "Who the Hell are these people?" when she saw them at the Hunger Games premiere, he replied something along the lines of "people who are better than you." Plus he blames his father for not becoming super-rich because he blew his money making a stupid religion movie that no one wanted to watch. And, how he felt that winning the Lotto jackpot was his only means of redemption. To become the SuperGod that he sees himself as.
It's like he regarded himself as some kind of Smug Chris born into a regal family in all but the huge sacks of money that are supposed to go with his birthright. I bet if he did have lots of cash, he'd be a real-life King Joffrey. Despite the carnage he did this past week, it probably would have been nothing compared to the mayhem he could have caused to Society had he had the money to finance his whims.
Any attempt I try to make in seeing it from his POV is spoiled by the fact that he was such an entitled little shit, and the more money he had, the more smug he got. Conclusion: FUCK HIM!
PS: I'm pretty much broke-ass, but even I was able to afford a few hundred dollars to buy a decent PC in order to play WoW at home back in 2004 when it came out, where Lord Elliot had to go to some CyberCafe and pay to play it by the hour. I chuckled at that.
