That's precisely why it's 24%.
I can understand 24% being legal to allow people with shit credit and no money down at least some kind of car, if they need a car to go to work, but there is no reason new cars can be bought with such terms. You'd except 24% being allowed for a shitbox for a maximum of 24 months, to give someone a chance to get some sort of vehicle, not on a new car. At that point you legalized usury.
Even $500 down on a house would get you better terms.
Houses appreciate in value (in general) which means they don't have to fill the depreciation hole when they repo. Although this kind of thinking caused the 2008 crisis. Houses always appreciated in value, therefore we can always just build more of them, and sell with with subprime loans (if they default you get a house that's more valuable, if they pay you get the interest).

I don't know, at the one hand: A fool and his money are easily parted, at the other hand: why allow banks to fuck people this hard, and possibly let them create another subprime loan crisis?

Nissan caters to subprime creditors with their financing, since they went all in on the "quantity over quality" during Carlos Ghosn's tern at Nissan. Compare that to how Toyota and Honda demand that you actually have great credit to get financing from them. And even Hyundai and Kia, despite them also pandering to people with less than good credit, still have some sort of requirements that would have rejected that person for financing.

Also, Buy Here Pay Here lots (BHPH) have just as high or even higher APR on their cars, since they also target people that make poor financial decisions and will very likely default on their car loans. The rule about BHPH lots in terms of how they make money is that they set the down payment to be the cost to get the car, and any payments collected is just gravy money, since they'll repossess the car and sell it again when someone defaults on it.

That's precisely why it's 24%. It's the fool tax for not putting more than $500 down on a vehicle that will not pay off the loan if it has to be repo'd and sold. Even $500 down on a house would get you better terms.
i got a 2012 honda civic two years ago and with about $8000 down it was 11%. i also have great credit that usually hovers around the 700-800 range so i could never imagine paying something like this every month. especially on a fucking nissan, those things break if you look at them wrong, like when the door handle snapped off in my hand because it was too cold.

You can call it usury, but ultimately that's the cost of loaning out a car for two years with almost no risk to the buyer, and everything on the seller, with no profit until the third year.

If I were to sell a car to someone with no money down 24% interest would be amazing. I'd be asking closer to 500%.

Predatory loans are, as the name implies, predatory.

I don't "allow" tigers to eat people, but if you walk past the signs warning you of danger and stick your arm into the cage to pet the kitty, I'm not going to feel anything but schadenfreude for you.

There's a large portion of people who think they can just infinitely roll their loan into a new car every year forever without consequences. Ignorance is bliss, and it's big money taking advantage of ignorance.

There's millions of reddit threads where people discovered their mistake only once the first payment was made, when a 5 second Google search would have made them walk away before signing.

Chainsaw man author also made a character in Chainsaw Man that's a pooner, but she has wolverine-tier healing. So she cant get zippertits because it just grows back.

Lol

Edit: Hold up "Niggardly"?? How did the mods let that slip by them? It's not 1865, no one uses Niggardly anymore

A woman noticed something strange about Melbourne: there are basically no white people left in certain areas.

Reddit did not like this.

It's a peaceful, thriving city! It's multicultural! It's a shining beacon of diversity and-

It's an unlivable hellhole isn't it?

God damn. 21% in a single year. We love our third world flood, don't we folks?

Regardless, Reddit isn't going to let silly things like the truth get in the way of their constructed reality.

"They're not raping and pillaging for the entire duration of this 30 second video, so why are you mad?"

Big "pitbull wearing a flower crown" energy, which makes sense because NPCs see invaders as misunderstood pets.

They're not dressed like extras from an Indiana Jones movie! I mean okay some are, but some aren't! That means they're fully assimilated! What more do you want?

And of course, this is Reddit, so here's your obligatory

Melbourne is so amazing with it's multikulti that there are massive problems they never had 10 years ago

Car theft rates through the roof

Insurers pulling out because they prefer the consistent floods and cyclones and bush fires in Queensland over the daily tobacconist firebombings and gang wars

Sudanese tribal machete attacks becoming a daily occurrence

Home invasions a part and parcel

What a great city

To redditors there is no more cardinal sin than being fed up with trannies. "They are too cowardly to express their opinions because they know we will ban them" is not the own you think it is, reddit janny.

Anyone who thinks one thing would make their life 100 percent problem-free has a mental illness. Anorexics say almost the same thing about being thin.

Motherfucker's pretty optimistic to think he'd be an attractive woman, anyway.
