Shots fired after federal police in Minneapolis struggle to subdue man brandishing gun amid protests, video shows​

Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

here's a very quick side by side i just did (not 100% in sync but should be close enough to illustrate this) and it does look like the person in the gray jacket is looking for the gun in the left POV (right hand isn't seen holding a gun in this shot) and is seen walking away with a gun in the right POV.

They'll believe that AG in Arizona who strongly implied it's legal to kill ICE agents under "stand your ground" because they're kidnappers. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

They want bodies, ICE agents? Civilians? Illegals? Doesn't matter.

They just want the body count to reinforce their side's rhetoric.

They want a bodycount because they want deporting all the illegals to seem impossible. It can't be as easy as just saying they all need to go.

Says the one talking about being submissive over perceived injustice. I may think these retards are loony assholes, but I can understand that in their alternate universe where they are right they have the courage of conviction in the face of superior authority instead of cowering and shitposting on the internet. That was all I was saying.

Maybe if people had reacted this way to things like the PATRIOT Act we wouldn’t have had to be in this situation in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

Granted, my history lessons are from the other side of the pond, but I don't remember any instances of revolutionaries walking up to the Redcoats, fucking around like an absolute sped, and then everybody crying about it when they inevitably ate shit.
Is there an online source where I could read up on this? Maybe a Museum of Revolutionary Speds I could visit?
 
I still think having a few vehicles with water canons on would clear the streets pretty damn quick if the temperature is in minus numbers there.
 
I really cannot wait for that name to come out. It's always fascinating what people find. Guy really could be ex-ICE like some have said. Or he could be from Mars for all we know. There is so little predictability anymore.
