I won't PL, but I've seen first hand the absolute devastation caused by what is blandly referred to as a "deference" in life goals and it has genuinely shaped the pathways of people I know possibly for the rest of their lives. The beginning of 2020 was a time that held many prospects for a lot of people that were totally derailed and can never be returned to quite the same, and it's perfectly reasonable to still feel scarred by losing out on these opportunities. How ironic that types like him always beg for sympathy like paupers on the street, yet their allegedly "open hearts" are never big enough for anyone but themselves.

A question for the ages:

Being a fan of something is often healthy - a great form of escapism, something to share with loved ones or use to find new friends, sometimes even inspiration for you to take off on a similar journey of your own now that you've seen what others can do. Fandom, however, tends to be noxious and sinister because it collects power-trippers, histrionics, degenerates and poorly socialized dysgenics into one room together and sets off the pipe bomb of obsession while cutting off all methods of escape. Anyone who had the misfortune of being on Tumblr during its heyday would know intimately that fandom is a scourge, so it's not a surprise that even freaks like Gooseworx and Phil notice that it's nasty.

(There is something to be written about how male-dominated fandoms exist versus female-dominated, but that's far too autistic for me to lay at the doorstep of this thread right now when there are more appropriate containment zones. TL;DR: both sides are gross, but Goose and Phil are more likely talking about female-dominated sides because they consider anything female-dominated to be their dominion as troons.)

Bluesky is not dying:

This is a comedic overstatement of the importance of Bluesky in the vast expanse of the digital sea; it's hardly a blue whale, a great shark, or even a sunfish, but a pathetic little remora feeding off of those fleeing various other websites. The reason Phil doesn't see Bluesky as dying is because he is surrounded by other terminally online dipshits who have accused every other site as belonging to the realm of the devil, which means the only holy ground to walk on is Bluesky (or whatever sites you're forced to use to get goonerbux like Patreon, Ko-Fi, etc.) - this does not a popular platform make.

It also goes to show just how narrow Phil's sphere of influence is, because many of the users who still cling to Twitter are not from the West, don't speak English and don't even look at art or porn. For example, Bluesky has been trying desperately to capture the Twitter base that enjoys sports and recently had football tags trending, but the popularity of sports on the platform remains incredibly dry for those who are passionate about it compared to the arts, navel-gazing or jerking off to the selfies of doughy, untoned reprobates. Bluesky's algorithm also makes it incredibly difficult for non-English speakers to break through and gain any worldwide attraction because it excludes languages outside of your default, and most users on there speak English.

So, naturally, it's not going to appeal to Asian artists (who remain hugely popular on Twitter and capable of maintaining their livelihoods) or Central/South American sports fans (who also have a decent userbase on Twitter). Bluesky is a hilariously homogenous site despite its claims of championing diversity, but if you tell anyone like Phil such a thing, he'll have you branded with a scarlet swastika and on a thousand CHUD blocklists come the morning sun. It's a platform full of willful, gleeful ignoramuses, so it's no surprise he calls it home - nor is it a surprise that he can't figure out why anyone else doesn't.

I've yet to see any of these hand-in-pants knuckledraggers explain how gambling addictions can exist, yet porn addictions cannot - and ironically, many get up in arms about the normalization of gambling apps and the predatory nature behind them. I understand we can all have horse blinders on when it comes to personal biases, but there's "horse blinders" and then there's straight up "blindfold fused to the skin of your face."

Having been exposed to many of these defensive degenerates while lurking Bluesky, there's also an added layer of cruelty wielded by many of them in that anyone who admits to a porn addiction - a difficult confession often spoken of with great shame and disgust - is mocked endlessly for having a "skill issue" or clearly being influenced by "religious values" (which are conveniently always implied to be Christian even though Orthodox Jews and Muslims don't really approve of pornography either). Funny how a collection of people so determined to claim that anyone can define their lived experiences regardless of scientific fact is somehow unable to allow people to define this one in particular.

But that's because this isn't about mental health or improving society - it's about the bottomline, specifically in regards to the bank accounts of Phil and other pornographers like him. They need porn addicts to assume that their addictions do not exist and that their compulsions to overconsume are not only healthy and natural but a genuine societal good because if people started waking up to the reality that they're like alcoholics who fry their brains on chugging dollar store Listerine, creatures like Phil would be forced to leave their hovels and work actual jobs. And God help any of us if Phil is exposing whatever future pandemic is gestating underneath his grimy, splitting fingernails to the general public.

I would also say that Phil has to deny it for his own mental health. He wants to believe he's in control of himself, and that he doesn't have the sting of "addict" attached to him. Because no one likes addicts.
